i visited cafe frank during a busy lunch hour, and found the experience overpriced and underwhelming. i paid r75 for a coffee and cup of soup the same size. the soup sounded nice - asian mushroom and chicken ball broth, but was sadly lacking in flavour. the side of toast that i was given was the wrong kind. i would definitely go somewhere better value for money the next time i need a quick lunch in the area.

some of the best roast chicken i've had in cape town. the salads that accompany the chicken are so good and it's all so healthy so i don't feel bad. it's a unique lunch spot and i recommend it to anyone looking for a quick tasty meal

this is the perfect little cafe to catch lunch of you work this side of the cbd. i had the salmon with raspberry dressing and green bean salad + a fresh apple and pineapple juice. all the ingredients were fresh and delicious. the price is a bit steep though around r107 for my meal. i will definitely be going back during the first half of the month when my budget allows it. i would like to see more carb-free meals on the menu thought.

nota bad place to have a good cup of coffee in town, wasn't super impressed with their food but a great place to sit and chill if you have time to kill

i came to cafe frank on easter monday for breakfast with a friend visiting ct as the rest of bree street was closed. the service was terrible, the fact that they had little in stock didn't bother me but the fact that i was treated as though i was to blame was. the food was expensive, stingy and sub standard. the food took ages, stuff was brought and taken away with out any explanation. we were not the only table who left disappointed that day

went there for breakfast on good friday. the only restaurant open in bree st. lovely setting. little disappointing as they had no chicken or croissants. opted for the mushroom, chive and truffle omelet with sourdough bread and iced coffee. omelet was great although the truffles make it super rich and the iced coffee best i've had. worth a visit.

cafe frank is a very sweet little restaurant that serves really health foods, delicious sandwiches and juices. although a bit pricey, i have never had a bad experience and their staff are friendly.

was very dissatisfied here. felt very ripped off.

the food is extremely overpriced and not any good. i had a croissant which cost r70 and was so small it was served on a side plate with a napkin! it was almost laughable. my friend had a "gourmet sandwhich" which was flavorless and i had to pay extra to have it on bread instead of a bagel !

when i voiced my opinion to the owner, the answer i got was
" why did you order it then? "
and " the foods organic"

not not very often you have a bad experience like this.

such a great spot for a nice healthy lunch. i usually have the roast chicken pieces with a variety of salads/veg. always a great selection and tastes fantastic! i enjoy the general atmosphere where you can grab a quick healthy bite and site on the side walk and watch the world pass by. really great little spot.

cafe frank is hard to resist when in town.. such an easy place to quickly hop in for a gourmet style sandwich. my favorite is their coronation chicken served on your choice of bread. i usually take their standard bagel! the coronation chicken could be on the hot side if you are not a fan of spicy food. but for me it just hits the right spots every time. they recently had some renovations done and used their space more efficiently. the other sandwich i like is their cured salted beef with red cabbage and mustard amongst other toppings. on occasion you get slightly too much mustard, but overall a great choice. for a meat free option i usually go for the hummus, artichoke and carrots bagel. interestingly enough, they also stock a small selection of premium wines. which makes it quite convenient should you need a bottle for the evening. can't wait to visit again.

i haven't been back to cafe frank since their renovations, but it's definitely on my to do list. the food there is yummy, and they cater very well for the health conscious and the glutards of the world. their muesli is particularly delish, as are their eggy breakfasts. they have a little bit of a deli section, which usually means you don't leave empty handed.

being opposite jason you would think they might struggle, they don't. at all. and you'll find them just as full - and rightfully so.

i love cafe frank even more after their renovations. the food is always consistent, their coffees are great and service is always given with a smile. be sure to miss the lunch hour rush to get a table.

cafe frank has an amazing mix of good food, drinks and a pretty sick vibe.

the cafe offers a hybrid experience between a bakery cafe and a quaint coffee house , cafe frank offers amazing food coupled with a very self help atmosphere, merging everyone into the scene.

the pesto chicken bagel was very generously portioned and tasted amazing. i can't wait to go back and try something else on their superb menu.
