great place to eat for home cooking served buffet style. if you’re on a diet they have an awesome salad bar. it is right next to the deserts so forget it your breaking your diet. drinks and service are excellent too!

the butterchurn is one of my go-to places while in aransas pass / rockport texas. it's great to see the friendly faces of the hard working staff. you will even often see owners barbara and mark busting their butt along side staff to get everyone served.
although the resteraunt is buffet, the quality of most items is above buffet. there are a few items that could be improved but staples like the brisket, steak, fried fish, mac and cheese and a to-die for frito pie will keep you coming back.

with me, the jury is still out.  this is one of these all you can eat places with the food just so-so.  all my friends love....i just like it.  maybe i just do not eat as much as i once did and fell like i do not get my monies worth.  that being said, the food is better than most places like this with  country type food being served.  one of my go-to food here is the turkey and gravy...home cook,with good gray and dressing.  if you have some big country boys that are hungry, this place will put a hurt on them.

so much food, great variety. wonderful choices on the salad bar. always busy, so the food turns over a lot. fresh and delicious. every night they have different main dishes, so you can call ahead to see what amazing thing is on the buffet. sometimes i think i'll just eat side dishes they are so good. and you need to save some room for cobbler and ice cream for dessert.

march 2015...new location, beautiful building and beautiful inside. parking is trippled, buffet superb! great variety and service great. great assortment of foods, salads and desserts... worth the drive here from rockport or corpus!!! definately will tell friends, neighbors and associates to go here.
update...update june 2015
omg... what happened here? food quality has gone to the dogs, salad bar old and un-appetizing... wont be back

dirty inside and out. gross.. this restaurant is in dire need of a thorough cleaning. there is no menu option. everything is buffet, and on the evening we visited, it all looked overcooked and unappealing. the janitorial / mopping / cleaning sink area is visible through a huge glass window--- directly behind the buffet. ew. just, ew.

came here for the first time, don't believe the bad reviews, the food here was very very good. i will return.!!!! and i'm from louisiana where we are very critical of food.!!

went here because i heard great things about this restaurant. after trying it i'm not sure why. may an off day? food was cold and bland. the staff was friendly, but not enough reason to return.

home style southern buffet.. just like my momma used to make if momma was from the south! take it from a born & bread yankee, this is good food. i've eaten here several times while over wintering in aransas pass and can't wait to go back again. it's daily buffet with special entree items each weekday. i like their southern fried chicken as well as chicken fried steak. plus taters & gravy, collard greens and all the fixin's plus dessert. all for under $10.

gone downhill. we used to go to the butter churn quite often and really liked it. the last 2 or 3 times have been disappointment. i don't know if they are economizing on the ingredients or if they have changed cooks but it's not nearly as good. we gave it a couple of tries just in case they had an "off night", but no, it's very different from what it was before. too bad. also, the "blue cheese dressing" dyed with blue food coloring is disgusting and the banana pudding is banana flavored pudding....no bananas.

great place!. whenever we come to aransas pass (we live in san antonio) our family enjoys going to the butter churn! just last night we had steak, ribs and chicken off of the buffet. my wife was extremely pleased with the desserts, especially the banana pudding.

got mashed potatoes that were box made and not well mixed. food was cold too. neighbors like it but i avoid it.
