burger island

this is the best burger, by a landslide, in irving! their burgers arehugeand they also serve awesome french fries and onion rings as well. in a former long john silver's location. when you leave you will not be hungry, i promise!

the hamburgers arehuge, people who say they are dry or "fried" are wrong , you can see them grill the meat on the grill , they don't hide it . they seem busy all the time i wouldn't question it because their food is delicious , sorta on the price side but worth it , i recommend this place .

service is so-so but the burgers arehugeand are cooked very fast. i've not strayed away from the burger side of the menu. fried mushrooms are okay.

overall a forgettable experience. not a friendly staff.hugeburger, fried, not grilled, dry, not much condiments. no seasoning on the burger. o rings just ok, they tasted funny to me. generous bacon portion on bac chsbgr. not bad, not great, just ok. i can't bring myself to click "i like it" or "i don't like it".

first time there & enjoyed the meal. ok so i had a craving for a burger but not the chain store type, so i looked up best burger irving texas and burger island popped up and was easy to get to . i zip over about 1;30pm and there was a steady flow of customers but not crowded then. the building inside or out were not that much to look at but seemed clean enough so if the food is good who cares.

i ordered two basic cheese burgers and fries to go and it was $12.75 no drinks.

figured these better be good for the price ?
got back to the office and consumed both burger and fries and did not feel any price remorse.

the burger washugeand tasty and the fries are soggy but still pretty darn good.

i would eat here again and even recommend as alternative to the same ole same ole burger you can get any where.

over all don't get your expectations up beyond reality and make sure you have about $7- 8 bucks in your pocket...
and then just enjoy a different better burger you don't usually see in most places.

the place is unassuming but the burgers were busting out of thehugebun! fresh cut fries with plenty of peppery seasoning. worth the detour of a couple of blocks from my usual whataburger.

top notch burger at great price. looked up a short list of top rated burger places in irving. just so happened burger island was just off 183 where i was headed, so i stopped by.

was pleased to see 1/2 pound burgers all under $6 before tax. (btw, the menu posted here on us is old, they've gone up about 50 cents the menu you see on this page, but still a great price).

i asked the cashier which burger she recommended. the guy who had just finished his transaction turned and said "they're all good, can't go wrong". the cashier then recommended the big island. comes w/ mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and jalapenos standard. add in a 1/2 pound patty and a massive bun (the burger fills up an entire to-go container, pic uploaded), and for $5.75 plus tt&l this was theoretically (before tasting it) awesome.

when i opened my to-go container, there were grilled onions and jalapenos falling out all over the place. they don't skimp on ingredients here. (at the same time, there wasn't any ingredient that there was too much of, to dominate or take away from the burger's taste).

as is my custom, took a bite of the meat by itself to test its seasoning and a la carte quality. it wasn't seasoned much but was quite juicy. but...even though the meat by itself wasn't premiere, when combined with everything else it was a fantastic, delicious burger. andhugeto boot. massive.

burger island on story ln in irving is a definite keeper, and definitely gets a pin-placement on the radar. burger quality excellent. priced to your (the consumer's) advantage.

i was intrigued by the pizza burger and a few others on the menu, and look forward to trying them.

if you're ever near 183 & story in irving, stop by burger island. tasty, economical, will fill you up.
