i had ordered palak paneer and tandoori rotis frombsblocal at mahmoorganj, varanasi. i read the reviews from zomato and decided to give them a try. well, palak paneer quantity we pretty good and decent. however, there was huge amount of green chilies thrown and mixed up into the gravy. as of which the entire preparation got super spicy and hot.
also, this may be a trick done by the restaurant and chef in particular because spinach gravy and green chilies both are in green color. the customer could not make out and differentiate between both. i was about to give them 4 stars, but since palak paneer was tremendously spicy and hot, i decided to downgrade their rating from 4 stars to 3 only.
you know, what is the hallmark of great food and dish. it is that the spices are so balanced and well integrated into one another, that the feeling of eating and taste go onto next level. once you try to overdo things, like throw in lot of red chilies or green chilies, you may enhance the flavor a bit, but that will come at a cost.
i am going out of 3 stars out of 5.0 forbsblocal at mahmoorganj. have some discipline in cooking dishes.
