brick kitchen is a good restaurant. it is located in the not-very-hep ghatlodiya area in the five petals hotel.
the restaurant is spacious, less noisy and has very courteous staff - all good factors for a good family lunch/dinner.
the decors/ambience is pleasant but nothing out of the blue (hence, the rating of 4+ is way above the place). the table mats, cutlery, food presentation are just normal - what any good restaurant would have (again disappointing me as i went here as the place was rated 4+.
we ordered manchow and minestrone soups - both of which were good in taste and portions. for staters we had dragon rolls - a version of cheesy spring rolls presented in a beautiful way with a schezwan dip. i would highly recommend this to anyone visiting this place. also ordered macroni with pineapple which was good in taste but not extraordinary.
we ordered north indian for main course - subz diwani handi, punjabi tadka dal and rotis. subzi and dal were well cooked and had decent sized portions. i was happy that tandoori rotis were cooked in wheat aata instead of maida - which is a big big plus! also ordered hot pot - it was well presented but i have had better mexican hot pot (tomato’s, nini’s kitchen) at other places in amdavad.
what stood out was the extremely courteous staff and decent food. i am giving it three stars because i was expecting a lot more from the overall experience - ambience, location etc. - as the place was rated 4+ on zomato! (in my mind i was comparing it to the likes of 650, rangeen, @mango - but sadly the experience doesn’t even come close!)
go here for good food and good service, but not theambienceor location. anyone staying nearby should definitely consider making it their “family restaurants” for their regular weekly meals.
