ended in hot water. six of us went to brandon hotel for the first time for lunch to celebrate my dad's birthday. the food was good and of a high standard. when we got the bill, to our surprise we were told that we had to pay $2 for each glass of hot water, a total of $10 extra for the table, which i thought was a bit steep. we used the entertainment book discount vouchers, and i wonder if that is why we were charged for hot water. i have no qualms paying the extra charge if we were told upfront. this unfortunately soured an otherwise good experience and we won't be back.

you could be forgiven for walking straight passed the brandon. nothing particularly special to look at, but looks can be deceiving. the food coming off the pass here is nothing less than first class, as is the service. highly recommended and well worth your hard earned. the brandon also features in the entertainment book making it exceptional value.

hidden gem!. a new find for me, very nice quiet place away from the traffic and chaos of carlton. well priced, great quality food. pleasant dinning area with an open fire place and attentive, helpful staff. 5/5

friendly staff who were attentive yet probably needed some extra hands due to a function being on! food was good, nothing amazing or out of the ordinary but suited our plans for a late boozy lunch. seemed to accommodate large groups well so worth considering if you're planning an event.

such a shame. we have been to the brandon only a few times for dinner over he last 4 - 5 years and it has always been enjoyable. the courtyard was where we headed to start off with. i could have done with a sweep and wipe of the tables and chairs. a nice little area though. from there we popped in for dinner and it was insulting to actually request a payment for what we shared (lamb kofta in turkish bread served with tzatziki & a burrito with frijoles served with avocado and sour cream) the lamb kofta was a gigantic serving of the most gristly mince i have ever eaten, in fact i would question if it was lamb (clearly cheap, cheap, cheap ). the burrito with frijoles was served barely warm with mounds of avocado, sour cream and no chilli. no one could complain about the size of the servings as they could have fed a third world country. there aretoo many other great places in the area for us to re-visit. it is such a shame considering its locality. may as well serve up parma's and chip and introduce "t'bone friday" as they could probably manage that (well maybe).
