so so. i was hoping for the rich flavors of louisiana but it was not to be. we had the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer; they came in a dish that was twice as big as it should have been so these four little mushrooms were sliding around in the buttery sauce. the flavor was bland.
the hamburger patty itself was quite delicious, a good meaty flavor, they use washington state beef.. the bun was also of good quality, not the typical soft, flat bun. this had good texture and a nice flavor. it had bacon and what tasted like unsalted mayonnaise but was supposed to be aioli. again, no flavor other than the meat patty. aioli should be flavorful with a lemony garlic tang. the garlic fries did not taste of garlic but rather a seasoned salt. the fries themselves were very unevenly cooked and not at all crispy. the salt is what added any color.
the shrimp po boy was generous on the shrimp but again none of the delicious deep flavors associated with new orleans.
the service was beyond inept bordering on awful. the orders took forever to come, and the plain garden salad was the last to arrive and it was a bit after the other order came, obviously not the waitresses fault. this was a 11:30 and we were one of two parties in the place. the waitress never refilled the drinks, even when asked about refills. she did give us the check but didn't return to take payment.
the chef needs a trip to new orleans to learn about authentic flavor profiles and the serving staff needs some training. the place is small, so even when they are full there are less than 30 people in the main dining area. hope they make it but i won't be going back.
