a very nice dinner. a couple weeks back a group of us spent a couple hours here for a very nicedinnerthat i appear to have forgotten about (could it be the multiple bottles of french wine... could be).
we started off with a shared appetizer of the petit plateau because everyone was in the mood for some seafood. while the raw was certainly fresh and tasty, the cooked lobster and shrimp were a bit overcooked and rubbery. as a dedicated salad, i had the coeurs de palmier ("hawaiian hearts of peach palm, field rhubarb & cippolini onions with spring onion ravigote") that was very tasty even though it did suffer a bit from the expected fussy construction and presentation. as a main, i had a special of scallops in a saffron bouillabaisse that was top notch. great distinct and fresh flavors with nothing being overpowering. for desert, shared an order of the dark chocolate mousse with burnt orange cream that i thought was a perfect end with a cup of coffee (though had a taste of the profiteroles that were, as expected, pretty darned good).
ultimately, this is a really great option if you like french themed high-end bistro seafood. nice that it's pretty casual (probably more so than you'd expect from the price point). just don't expect it to be cheap... it is not.
