i visited bonjour brioche for brunch with my friends on a sunday.
it was really busy and it took quite some time to get seated as there aren't many tables and the patisserie is quite small. the smell of fresh onions, eggs and coffee wafts through the air which gets your gastric juices going but take note that the strong aroma can linger on your clothes once you're done with brunch.
the food: (pictures attached) presentation was very good and the serving size was also reasonable. we ordered egg benedict with avocados and salad which had a pleasant and pleasing flavor on the taste buds. however, the quantity of the hollandaise sauce should be increased. we also ordered an omelette which wasn't out of the ordinary. the french toast was pretty good and had a cinnamon like flavor and came with a maple sauce dip on the side. we tried two types of tart - the apricot and lemon which came with a scoop of whipped cream. on the whole the tarts were nice but on the sour side. the fresh orange juice was genuinely fresh and tangy. i felt that by ordering different items on the menu, we were complementing aspects lacking in the other. it would not feel complete to order just one type of item hence you're bound to order more than one item on the menu.
pricing: for four people, we spent around 80$ including tip. which approximates to 17-20$ per person. moreover, they only accept cash, no credit or debit.
service: staff were very courteous and attentive. however, the wait for the food was rather long. considering that customers are spending a slightly higher amount than other places, the manner in which the cheque is given to customers can be made less crude and more polite by giving it in a cheque book or tray instead of plonking it on the table at the end.
on the whole, we enjoyed the food and had a good experience. it was certainly a nice place to have brunch but maybe not the best.
