bogie's downtown deli

great sandwiches. sandwiches are always very good here. my only complaint is that they all come with just chips. some fries would be great!

i will go back but only to use the other half of my groupon. our first visit here was the night of the christmas parade. they were open special hours for the event. we got there early and waited for them to open. after looking at the menu, i was excited to eat there. this place seemed really unique in their offerings and the menu made the sandwiches sound amazing.

the sandwiches were not amazing. light on the (low quality) meat and light on flavor. the person behind the counter made it obvious she did not want to be there and was overwhelmed. in fairness this seems to be the standard in abilene, unfortunately. also, i waited and waited and waited for our order and no one called. finally i went up to the very overwhelmed counter and asked for our order. apparently our order had been sitting there for a while and no one cared to let us know. the guy wouldn't let me have the bag and asked me if i paid already. of course i paid. you made the order, didn't you?!

as much as i love to support local businesses, i just can't on this one.

i need a manwich!!!. i've been wanting to check this sandwich shop out and a few days ago i did. i ordered the oklahoma kid which is chicken breast, thousand island, avocado, on a sour dough bread. i actually like the idea of chips with my sandwich instead of the same typical fries you get anywhere else in town and a pickle to go with. the sandwich it self was very tasty but i wish their was more meat i found myself hungry for more and taking bites of my sons grill cheese. the bread needed something.... maybe spread some butter on with a few seconds on the grill to get a crunchy texture. i got a bite of my hubby's sandwich (chained lightning) very good. the chips that came with my meal were ruffles good, but wish they had more of a selection and what's up with the baked lays being 40 cents extra (no bueno) . overall i love the concept and supporting local businesses but the idea of paying for something i can make at home??? ....hmmm if i'm ever in the area i will give this another shot and try something else.

favorite place. bogie's has been one of our favorites for years! they have very unique sandwiches with very clever names, all based on bogart movies. the oklahoma kid is my family's favorite. you can't go wrong with any of it!

me and my buddy like to go around and find new local places to eat at...pleasantly surprised by bogie's. i had the caine mutiny seeing as st. patty's is coming up. great sandwich...my only complaint is no french fries...but not that big of a deal...will definatley be back.

tried the barefoot contessa, pretty good. the bf is having the great omalley and enjoying it.

wonderful!! *****. this place is just great. a few qualities i like about bogie's are: cleanliness, home-like feel to it, simple but definitely has dishes with much pizazz/creativity, comfortable, good music, friendly/willing to engage in genuine conversation and of course great food! owner even brought over a free dessert because he found out that i had just graduated from college in abilene. i don't think this is common practice, but merely a kind gesture. delightful!

absolutely love this place. cannot come to abilene without eating at bogie's. perfect sandwiches with great service.

great lunch!. wonderful, locally-owned lunch place. great variety of sandwiches, salads, and hamburgers. come early, they draw a crowd. open 10:30-2 mon-fri. they also do a great job with catering orders.

love the sandwiches!. the only negative thing i can say about it is i wish there was a location nearer to where i live and open on weekends.
