the best bbq? i don't think so.... bragging that they have the best bbq around is a bit of a stretch. the ribs were mushy and overcooked and definitely not fresh. the brisket was dry and flavorless like day old pot roast with their version of bbq sauce that tasted like sweet ketchup. the fries were greasy and limp. the only good thing about the meal was their pickle chips. they were crispy and delicious! theirbeerselection is superb also.

beer good- food bad. go for the goodbeer(or bourbon) selection at cheap-to-resonable prices. eat before you get there. gems on thebeerlist, 12 different dog fish head beers, ayinger celebrator, founders breakfast stout, ommegang on tap, bluepoint rasta rye on tap, brooklyn monster bottle for $6.00. twenty four belgian bottles on the list, most for $8 to $10.00.

nobeersnobs here, non-beer lovers can get pbr (in a can of course) for $3.00.

the food is from bland to awful. smoked sausage is edible, nothing else is. collards were sweetened? ribs dry and hard. fried shrimp should come off the menu, they are too old and hard to eat. mac and cheese overcooked watery pasta and velveta. fried pickles were mostly breading, not enough pickle. i'm not a serious foody, but this was awful.
even the sweet potato fries were cold and soggy.

this is a nice space to hang in. if you have a few friends get together for a beer, this is a nice place, but eat a sandwich at home so you won't be hungry.
the bar is long and these is room to spread out. the band sucked, but they knew it and had fun on the mike anyway, so it was ok.

last mention, our waitress was a very nice young lady with a great attitude. we would have complained about the food if it wasn't for our very pleasant server. not overly in-your-face friendly, just real good at her job and comfortably friendly.

if you really likebeerforget the fact that bobbiques is labeled a bbq place, come there for that reason and expect decent food. the food was legitmately awesome when they opened but like another reviewer stated it took a noticable turn

positive and negatives.... i'm a regular at this bar, so perhaps i'm biased, but i'll try and be as objective as i can. i love the staff, probably the bestbeerselection in the area, which is why i usually go there... however, i know others who have had severe problems with the food. personally, i've eaten there maybe two to three times for an actual sit down dinner (every other time is just a night out at the bar), and i really can't complain. i do have to say, though, that when they very first opened the food was outstanding compared to now. either way, they always have a great band playing. i would 100% recommend this if you're looking for a night of great beers and good blues, but i'd be apprehensive to suggest it being a fabulous dining experience.

liked it, but.... i've been here twice. loved the food!beerselection was also great!!! the only problem i had was the second time i went they sat us in the back. there was a band on and we had asked to sit up front (there were about 3 open tables) and she said no, they sit in rotation of servers and if they moved us that server would lose a table. this is absolutely crazy!?! isn't your #1 priority to make the customer happy?!

good beer, lousy food. i'll admit it: i'm abeersnob. for that reason, i was really looking forward to coming here. with more than 100 beers on the menu, including some of my more difficult to find favorites, i did not go thirsty.

unfortunately, the food itself was seriously disappointing: the pulled chicken was bland and dry enough to choke on, and the ribs were off-puttingly fatty. even the desserts were lousy: the "pecan pie" was covered in a thick mat of powdered sugar, perhaps to hide the fact that it was almost entirely pecan-free.

i recommend that pass unless you absolutely must have live music with your real beer. if you only want the beer, try tj finley's instead; if you only want bbq, try smokin al's (both very close to one another in bay shore).

first off you go to bobbiques for the beer. and as most restaurants make the most money off the beverages, they are doing the right thing. great music and moderately priced bbq with greatbeerequals a great night out.

bobbique is ok; not all it's cracked up to be. greatbeerchoices, probably the best in the area but, go out of your way a bit and have a much better dinner at smokin' als of bayshore.

when in the mood for some good tunes, and good brews, please check this place out; it's not quiet and not for the faint of heart, but the owner truly cares about the business and opinions of his patrons.
