fantastic. wow...if you are all about amazing diner food...i'm talking amazing. this is it. my girlfriend and i sat down at the counter and we must have tried just about everything lol. well worth the 10 minute wait at the door. we're big fans of country cooking and big country breakfasts. they did not disappoint.

highly recommended for the old diner experience and great food.

what what what!. first of all their wine selection was horrible, one could say no n-existent, and the caviar or escargot or whatever it was tasted of pancakes and syrup. i would stay away from the roast duck, it tasted like ham. i haven't tried the foies gras, veal parmesan, or a lobster and wild prawn medley yet but after having the chateaubriand last time, i don't think i will. i was under the impression that mike isabella and bryan voltaggio had taken over here and really turned this place around. apparently this isn't a 5 star celebrity laden haute culture enclave set in upper manhattan with a 6 month waiting list to get a reservation. i guess it really is just a hole-in-the-wall diner that serves what it claims… i am as surprised as anyone. what did you all expect? and as far as service goes, i have had good & bad service at many restaurants (some very nice, some i wouldn't brag about) and while it always sucks, i remember my days as a server and know that not every table everyday is perfect, try as i might. sorry to those whose lives i ruined when i messed up their order or wasn't fast enough to refill their 26th glass of iced tea. i messed up, i was a kid trying to make some beer money and sometimes your attitude wasn't worth the extra effort. keep it in mind people and get real with your reviews.

always a line, always greasy, always crammed, but we wouldn't want it any other way.

sub par food and service. the booths are not large enough to accommodate many people. only american cheese for omelets and scrambled eggs? gross.

nostalgia. in high school, me and my gang of punk rock, non-conformist friends would hang around at bob & ediths for breakfast at midnight. the food is by no means gourmet, but it's undoubtedly true to what diner food is supposed to be. open all night, this place will satisfy your drunk cravings for eggs and scrapple at 2 in the morning.

good late night grub spot! the food was comforting & familiar & really hit the spot. crowded, but i'd expect nothing different.

best spontaneous decision. yes, go here if you're hungry and you want breakfast. no questions, period.

the food is horrendous and the services is even worse. the place is a really old and looks like a trailer home: i guess it makes their clientele feel at home. they offer "home fries" as their only potato side. i've never eaten a potato i didn't like...until i ate the home fries at bob & edith's. they are completely flavorless, cold and taste at least 2 days old. there is a red seasoning but i am unable to figure out what seasoning it is because as i said earlier, their is absolutely no flavor whatsoever. i ordered a country fried steak that was totally over cooked. i had to cut the entire outter edge and could only eat the middle. the few parts of the steak that were not over cooked tasted descent. the eggs were ok but as with the potatos, they were cold. service was none existent. a lady came and took our order and we didn't see her again. i don't recommend this place

a better choice when nothing is open.. sobriety is sometimes our enemy. once the intoxication flushed out your system and you realized the junk you just ate the night before, this is probably what you're going to feel after eating at this joint.
after a long night of alcohol indulgence, nothing is open and your hungry (if this joint is on your way home) "bob & edith's" is probably a better choice than ihop or denny's.

i like this place. i've been going here for over 12 years and have only seen good, friendly service and good solid diner food. the burgers and fries are good. excellent fried chicken. slaw is the usual. great shakes. breakfast is usually crowded on the weekends. steer clear of the biscuits with sausage gravy. biscuits were rock hard and gravy was sub par. the chilli is good. parking is limited. but it's worth the short walk.

very happy. i dont think the review below counts if it comes from the owners family. sounds like damage control to me. i dont care what happen. being an owner of another establishment in arlington my staff and i just want to thank bob & ediths for closing and increasing our sales by 30% the last two weeks..

breakfast lover. yea that sucks that the sold the property and closed the second location, but i guess it is just apart of business. i went to their other location earlier today and recieved the best service and food. it seems like that kept the best staff and are really taking care of the customers. this place is truly an arlington landmark!!! great food anytime!!!!
