thnk grateful dead concert meets blues club meets great food. this place was a find on a lazy saturday. the sandwiches were super and the atmosphere was full of "good vibes."

while there is a line...no worries..you will get through it quickly. you will also leave with a smile on your face andgoodfood in your tummy.

great selection of sandwiches, mostly very creative, & other deli staples.goodbut not great actual selection my first & only visit to this point. coffee bar-size indoor seating area w/ community seating (not a big fan), & weather allowing, a few tables outside on sidewalk. very busy at lunch w/ long line & tough for more than 2 to sit together. not overwhelmed on 1st visit but would certainly try it again.

best deli in stl!. fast & friendly service. sandwiches start around $6.goodselection of chips & bottled sodas. credit cards. everything on the menu is good. for me it's uncle sam's club. a must try if you're in stl.

big sandwiches come in small deli shops!. there probably isn't much i can say about blues city that others haven't already noted, i'm just happy to say i now know what all the buzz is about. it's a tiny place (seats maybe 20-25 at most); there is virtually always a line down the sidewalk that moves fairly quickly through to the counter where you place your order and get a number and a few minutes later they bring your sandwich out. there is live music, but don't expect to get a seat inside unless you arrive early and secure your spot. a couple of friends invited my fiancé and i to try blues city yesterday and even though it was chilly outside, we grabbed a table near one of the outdoor heaters on the sidewalk and enjoyed our sandwich right there. i had the classic pastrami on rye and it was incredibly tender and flavorful; the black and bleu roast beef was melt in your mouth perfect. this is an incredibly popular lunch spot and they definitely have a little gold mine here because everything is suchgoodquality for about the same price as any sub chain. try it, you'll like it!

wickedgoodsandwiches. this place is great! had a huge line at 11:15 a.m. small and cramped seating area so make friends! sandwiches were top notch. fresh and extremelygoodingredients. heck, even the drinks and chips were great! when i saw they had cheerwine and zapp's it was enough to make a southern boy smile. go early or be prepared to stand in line but it will be worth the wait!

wow, packed house. was it because of the food? band? sunny day? all of the above. o, and throw in super nice owner forgoodmeasure. try the muffaletta sandwich. it took two of us to eat half of one.

i heart this place. best muffaletta i've had in decades. their olive spread is off the chain. great vibe,goodbeer, free live music, terrific owner (vinnie valenza). definitely belongs at the top of the "best of st. louis" list.

good food,goodtime all around!. my husband and i love to come here, grab a bite to eat and listen to the band....... oh and people watch!! vinnie and his staff makes you feel at home......... like family! i really enjoy the atmosphere. since we started coming here, we've brought several other people for lunch who also love this place. i recommend it to all..... a sandwich is not just a sandwich until you've tried this place.

so good!. we parked about a block away from this place and walked to the deli, rubbernecking the whole time. there were about 6 tables on the sidewalk and a line that ended just outside the door. i guess we deserved that for showing up at straight up noon. lucky for us the line went quickly and even luckier, a table cleared out just after we placed our order with the super friendly staff. for a place that was wall-to-wall-packed, the food came lickety split. my husband had ordered the the 'benton park' po-boy and i had the bbq pulled pork po-boy with st. louis sauce. we also ordered a bowl of the red beans and rice. they offer an extensive selection of funky local sodas and chips too.

the food was phenomenal. i can't wait to get back there. it's agoodthing stl is close enough for a weekend road trip. seriously our sandwiches were so great we didn't even get to the read beans and rice. i ate that later that night after we got back to kansas city. o. m. g. so good. well seasoned and spicy but not so hot you couldn't eat it and loaded with andouille sausage in every single bite. oh yes, we'll be back. we'll be back very soon...
