great staff, awesomebeer& food, great atmosphere inside or outside! must go!

dirty and angry. happened by here three times in the last three weeks. each time "greeted" by the same surly hostess, slow service, mediocre food served luke-warm, and nearly impossible to get a beer. on the other hand, the servers are hanging out flirting with each other while there seems to be no management. thebeerthey brew is mediocre as well and i'm tired of being treated like garbage when i visit. this place used to be great. i'll spend my money elsewhere as i'm sure others will also do in short order.

i do have to admit that thebeerbratwurst stole the show. but, i don’t think you can go wrong either way.

don't let the crowds fool you this establishment is medicore at best. we are from the area originally and now have the ability to travel for our work thankfully. we've dined/eaten at dives and fine restaurants. we seek out good places. thebeerhad no distinctive flavor. we only had breakfast and arrived after hiking crabtree falls. we were hungry. there was a wait for seating but there were a lot of folks seated. like i said, don't let the crowds fool you. we ordered the buffalo chicken dip. it arrived before our beers. sad face. service took a while to catch up to everything but other reviews expound on this. the dip was just ok. it came with homemade tortilla chips. they weren't good. hubby had chicken wings and fries. i had va pulled pork. it had zero flavor. i added some sauce. it was too sweet. the fries for both of us seemed like they'd been prepared earlier. they weren't fresh. we asked about the homemade cheesecake to take away for later. the waitress said she liked cheesecake factory better. we passed. as we were leaving, i saw people seated at a table that had not been cleaned. the person seating the mother/son literally picked food off the table as she was trying to seat them. in jan/feb, we stopped at wild wolf about 10 mins down the road. thebeerand food were much better. we won't stop here again. the only good part about this place is the scenery. drop $50 somewhere else up the road. trust me.

went here with friends during the middle of the week.  it was great because not many people were there and you can choose any seat you like.  outside there is lots of seating and nice views and great atmosphere.  i did not actually getbeerso i can't speak to that, but i can speak to the food which was not very good.  i got a mushroom burger which was not tasty.  the fries were too deep fried as well, tasted like carnival fries.  they did have gluten-free options so that was nice for my wife, but she said the flavor was bland.  i would say it is a nice place with views and you can bring your pets but not the best food. i'd give it a 2 for food but a 4 for atmosphere

beautiful scenery when you eat outside. my bmb classic burger was okay. nothing to write home about. my friend, karen, got the nachos with chili. they were amazing and i'll definitely order them next time! i also tried the original nitro porter. it was smooth and delicious! i highly recommend this if you like darkbeerat all. lastly, the service was not up to par. our waiter didn't deliver our food or check on us at all while we were eating which definitely impacted our drink orders.

the food here is nothing special and the limited menu never changes. however, thebeer🍺 and the location and the outdoor seating are why i keep returning.

nelson's first brewery is still the best!. excellent reasonably pricedbeerselection. very good, varied food food selection. the most beautiful location for outside dining in the area.

glad to see them spreading out to the old south street brewery in charlottesville.

greatbeerin a great atmosphere. my wife and i really love this place. the staff is friendly, the food is great, and thebeeris the best of the local microbreweries. great place for special occasions too. my wife and i celebrated our 25th anniversary here. i let them know in advance and when we got there, they had a special five course dinner prepared for us, with abeerpairing for each course. fantastic time and some really great food!

great setting and magnificent views! go for thebeerand atmosphere not the food. food works withbeerfriends and fun!

awesome view. impersonal service. okbeerand alright food. pretty sure everything was "made to order." we had the burger and gyro. meat was very dry and way over cooked.

great views. this place is cool. sit outside in the summer and enjoy the views. get thebeertaster if your new to the place. food and service is good too.

going downhill. i used to eat here regularly. however, i feel strongly the quality of food and service has gone downhill since the expansion. thebeeris still good, but the food quality has gone downhill as well as the cleanliness of the place. the only menu item which has remained consistently good is the pizza which i still think is 2nd best to dr. ho's. appetizers are mediocre, sandwiches are terrible and the place is always dirty. stick with pizza andbeerand don't look at the floor and you should be okay.

beautiful spot at sunset. there are a lot of brewery/restaurants in this area; this one got the best reviews from locals. we tried two pizzas, the bratwurst/apple and a special with spicy sausage; both great.beergood too, but perhaps the best part of bmb is the location. sit on the patio near sunset for dinner and you'll see a nice mix of tourists and locals; a very relaxed, mellow vibe prevails.

awesomebeerand a beautiful view! i highly recommend theirbeersampler so you can get a taste for the different brews they offer. only ate the hummus appetizer but it was very good. i hope to visit this brewery again one day!!!

great beer, food and views. probably the bestbeerout of all the local brewpubs, while the menu may be limited, everything on it is excellent, especially the pizzas. while they serve food, it's more of a brewery than a restaurant. just about everything at the restaurant is organic and locally grown/harvested. they even grow their own hops. great place to spend a spring/summer evening, the views from the porch are second to none.
