best kept secret in jax!!. wow this place is great!! ive been numerous times forlunchand just recently went for dinner and was blown away. the menu is full of great choices, and at around $10-12 for lunch, its an absolute steal! dinner is a bit pricier, but well worth the coin. entrees range from $20-30, but the quality of the ingredients and the skill in preparation are well worth every penny. on my last visit i was able to speak with the chef/owner and had nothing but praise for his talents! our server (justin) was outgoing, knew the menu in and out, and offered suggestions that didnt just include the most expensive thing on the menu for dinner service (a tell tale sign that i usually dismiss server recommendations by!). my girlfriend, whos normally quite hard to please, ordered each of his suggestions and was amazed. he even offered wine-pairings for our entree selections...my steak was cooked to my perfection and i found out from the server that all the meat cuts are hand-cut in the kitchen by the chef himself. we ordered the filet mignon and chilean sea bass and im not sure which was more impressive, the presentation or the taste! we have been back for dinner twice already in the past month and will continue to go as it is now my girlfriends favorite restaurant in the city. we request justin everytime we go, you can really tell he enjoys leading newbies through the menu lol. try the goat-cheese salad or dumplings as apps...simply phenomenal. desserts are all made in-house, and i cant speak for all of them, but the creme brulee and tiramisu are both amazing!!
