bistro bobette

great experience. ate at the bar. it was full but olivier took care of all of us.greatatmosphere and friendly diners and servers. good wine selection. had rack of veal...a new experience. it was delicious.

bad food and service with no apologies. today myself and 4 co-workers arrived at bistro bobbette and noon for lunch. we have been to bistro b. 2-3 times in the past for lunch and always receivedgreatfood and good service. upon arrival we were seated promptly. there was one other large table in the back and a two top table behind us. our order was taken within 10 minutes of our arrival. more patrons began arriving. we sat there waiting for our food for 30 minutes before the waitress came out and said that one meal ordered by a co-worker was no longer available. she took her new order and went back to the kitchen. two appetizers we had ordered then arrived. (35 min mark) the winter vegetable soup was terrible. we watched as all the tables around us were being served. that's right the ones that came in well after our arrival. the waitress could offer us no explanation.

finally, 1 hr and 15 mins after our arrival our food arrived. 1 dish was cold, three beef dishes were all over done. only the lamb shank special met the standards of prior visits.

the whole expierence was dreadful. not once did a manager come out to apologize and neither did our waitress.

excellent real french cuisine. this place is so delicious. food was very authentic french i felt like i was in paris! tried many items and all were good. i posted photos here so check them out. they offer good deals for early bird pre fix as well as $22 three course meals thursday night.greatplacegreatfoodgreatwine!

this one's a keeper!!. okay, loved it, loved it, loved it!!! the waitstaff was grand, the food was very very good, the place itself is lovely. we got there in time to enjoy the fixed price option, which is really quite a bargain, available from 5-6 on weekdays i think. limited options, but what i wanted was on the list, so bonus for me! the portions were not large but were certainly adequate, and more importantly, the flavors were really interesting and the presentation was lovely. my potato and leek soup could have been a scosh thicker, but was really tasty, and the trout and haricots vert were really really good. the creme brulee was good as well. bouchon is agreataddition to shockoe slip and i'll definitely be visiting again!

we really enjoyed the food: fennel salad, caramelized onion and sardine tart, foie gras and scallops. a bit of french music would be charming.greatmeal.
