the thing i liked most about biker jim’s was the atmosphere, beer list, and exciting menu, but i was somewhat let down with what i tasted. i would probably go back again–i’m curious about the louisiana red hot dog and that deep fried mac & cheese, and maybe i’d order something simpler, to see if i could just enjoy the flavors without all the maneuvering and mastication.

nothing is more american than baseball. and nothing pairs better with baseball than a hot dog. so naturally, after screaming our heads off during an 11 run inning at the rockies game, we needed to refuel with a hot dog. we headed just down the street from the field to biker jim's gourmet dogs , a semi fast food restaurant serving up anything but your standard hot dog. we are talking elk, pheasant, boar, and even rattlesnake dogs, split down the middle and charred on a gas grill. you can get them plain, topped with jim's standard topping (cream cheese and coke soaked onions), or topped with one of his other concoctions. although it was nearly ten o'clock and the game was still in full swing, the place was packed, line out the door and all. it obviously draws a crowd. even though we were hard pressed to find a table, and the blistering wind outside kept us from the patio, that did not stop us from quenching our craving. i stuck with my favorite - the elk jalapeno cheddar dog - which was,

every kind of hot dog you can imagine. from a footling to a hot dog made from buffalo or elk. 1000s of ways to top it and eat it. worth trying the downtown location.

these are hands down the best dogs in-town. i've been enjoying these dogs since jim had only the one cart. my favs are the reindeer and the duck cilantro.

i find this cart every time i come to denver. it is so perfect for a quick lunch if you are in the down town area. great flavors and make sure you get your dog with cream cheese!

glad i finally stopped in! i've walked past dozens of times but finally stopped after a pub crawl. the night time menu is pretty limited, but that's not a bad thing. i had the alaskan reindeer which is actually reindeer, and i apologize to santa, but it was delicious. i didn't add any of the famous condiments, only cream cheese and fried onions and it was perfect. they have plenty of wild game options to choose from, but honestly when i go back i will probably do the reindeer again, it was that good. i'd also love to give some of the sides a try.

pretty solid place to grab a hot dog, as they offer traditional options, along with elk and rattlesnake for the more daring. they also offer a wide variety of options for toppings which is nice.

i am not a hot dog fan, but i went to biker jim's at the request of my friends who swore it was different...and it so totally was!! interesting meats - reindeer was my favorite - with delicious toppings (lemon aoili, ketchup chutney) all cooked to perfection. they also have delicious sides. the shoestring fries are my favorite, while others raved about the fried pickles. the space is large and echo-y, especially with the rock music playing. you can also take your "dogs" next door to star bar to drink booze & watch tv while eating. biker jim's is the best for hotdogs in denver!

wow!. in town for a few days and stopped in. this place has a crazy menu. their hot dogs are made out of things like elk, reindeer, wild boar.. just to name a few. they were all delicious. they have a recommended way of making them with cream cheese and caramlized onions and i do recommend getting them this way. it's a really interesting combination. we loved it. don't bother with the fried mac and cheese. it was bland.

when it was all said and done, we had tried almost everything that the hot dog stand offered. that included the german veal brat, wild boar sausage, alaska reindeer, elk jalapeno cheddar and louisiana red hot. the reindeer was my favorite.

jim's is a great place to drop in for a quick bite, and come baseball season is an excellent pre/post game hangout with only a block's saunter between coors field. check out all of the varieties, and get creative with your toppings. this is a build-your-own experience kind of place, and definitely not your grandpa's hot dog.

i attended biker jims today and apparently there was a race going on. waited in line for 40 minutes to order and waited another 20 for food. it was clear they were not ready for that many people. i gave up waiting after the complete kitchen meltdown and never even got my food. it's too bad since they are right next to coors field and can't handle a small crowd. i will never go again
