big lou's burgers & bbq

best bbq i've had in sa!!!. i have to say, i live right around the corner from this place, went over a year without noticing it and one day just decided to try it.....well....that was history...i am addicted to big lous burgers and bbq! my family and i have visited this place over 6 times in the last month....from the burgers to the chopped beef to sliced brisket, from the pulled pork (my favorite) to the seasoned so great chicken strips....i absolutely love this place. we have yet to try everything on the menu yet, but hope to soon! now, onto the sides...i love the pinto beans, seasoned to perfection...green beans are too good to ever pass up....potato salad....mannnn....i dont ever eat anyones potato salad, but my own, and this is about as close as it gets....absolutely wonderful! i cant say enough good about big lous burgers and bbq. i work on the entire other side of town and have referred all of my coworkers to come visit this place...most people know of the pizza place, but fail to realize there is a burgers and bbq spot right up the street! i even carry the to go menu in my purse, to pull out and brag about how good this place is....like i sd, im addicted and so is my family....let me just go on by saying, i have a very big, greedy husband, that loves to eat just as much as i do....and he never leaves this place anything other than fat full and completely satisfied! long story short....i love big lous burgers and bbq!!! defiantely worth the $ and drive!

i ordered a chilly cheese burger and my girlfriend ordered the grilled ribeye sandwich. to start off the chilly in my burger tasted like regular can chilly that you put on hotdogs. the ribeye burger was soggy and made sloppy. to top it off the steak was mostly fat. service was another thing. the server came to our table only once. didnt even get one more refill. never coming back again!

great food. despite the bad reviews. i am a real customer. the food is great my favorite is the mac and cheese great. yes it is a little costly than other places but it is worth it. big lou's have a verity of food on their menue, the people that work their are great! i have been a customer their for a year and several months and have no complaints. great job big lou!

i wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody.  the freshness and the motivation to produce quality food have gone down drastically.   too much laziness on that kitchen, precutting vegetables on previous days and overcooking food is just insulting, specially the price being charged.  i ordered a simple burger with some fried pickles and found that the tomatoes were mushy at least 2-3 days old and lettuce all saggy with huge amounts of water probably from cutting it way ahead of time and not drying it properly.  nobody wants to eat a burger with water dripping down from the lettuce and tomato.  adding disgusting topping into a burger ruins the whole burger.  the cooks need to stop being lazy and cut the tomatoes and lettuce on the spot.  i’m paying to see some fresh ingredients inside that burger; you may fool the other people who can’t tell the difference between fresh and old.  also, overcooking the fried pickles and not removing the oil? really? there were no pickles inside due to overcooking the crap out of it and brought the pickles resting on top of a pool of oil to my table, shame on you!  there was a time when this place was good, but not anymore.  think about the quality of food, people will come back crawling for more, but the restaurant has sacrificed the quality of the food.  let me know when you change the motivation of the kitchen and able to produce a decent burger, i’ll be happy to give the restaurant one more try.

we came in near 9 pm, thursday night.  8-10 folks at the bar, 5-6 table of folks eating, and lots of noise.  tv's on both sides of the room with a cowboy's game on, were so loud we could not really hear each other.  we went to the back room where it was quieter, and selected a table, then went back up front to order. there was so much noise, it was hard to hear what the cashier was asking.  we ordered four bacon cheese burgers, rib-eye sandwich with onion rings, and drinks. returning to the table, we found that we had been displaced, and that portion of the dinning room was closed, and we were seated in the loud bar room.  the food was served quickly.    cheese was missing from three burgers, and there were no onion rings.  the food was delicious, and the person who brought the food to the table was gracious.  the error was pointed out,  and he brought us a large order of onion rings to ease our wounds.

no match to their pizza joint. don't go at lunch the service was very slow and our meals came out at different times. two people in our group had to get to go trays and eat in the car on the way back to work. my wife's jalapeño burger was good the bbq had large brisket servings probably an 8oz serving on a plate. the brisket was dry, and it was a cut off of the point and it was cut with the grain not across it. the chicken was ok and fairly moist. my friends rib play had two bones and rib tips. now the brisket was cheep i have no idea how they can sell it for $11.00 a pound. i probably will not go back and would not recommend it and that is sad because i love big lou's pizza b

ok food horrible service.

delicious food!!. the food is amazing... we had the wings, bacon cheese burgers, cheese fries w/bacon. i wanted to try their brisket nachos, but they were out. my family and i will definitely be back. the service is ok, not the best, but the food totally makes up for the customer service.

bad customer service. we were there for dinner and the cashier must of been new cause she was not sure. once she gave me the total and recite for credit card i had to go back and ask for my receipt cause i felt like i got overcharged. when i asked for receipt some other guy came out i think he might of been a spvsr or mngr, he showed me the receipt which had a already added on gratuity that the cashier did not made us aware of. when i asked why he said cause we were a party of six, when i explained to him that the six person was a baby who is on formula who doesn't eat that kind of food yet. he became arrogant and tried to argue so his arrogance became even worst when he just open his wallet and said "it's just $5 here". my main thing is that i was not even made aware that a a gratuity had been added on the bill.
our waitress was great and food was average nothing special about their burgers, you can get same quality at whataburger for half the price!

good bar food. first visit to this place, it is a small restaurant with many food choices. parking is to the rear of the building and so is the entrance so when you walk in your not greeted at all, you have to walk to the front of the restaurant to place your order.
the staff is nice and courteous, but a little slow refilling drink.

the food was brought out quickly, we had their buffalo wings. the wings are fried, spicy, and they come only one flavor, with your choice of dipping sauce. the wings tasted a lot like spicy fried chicken. they look plain but do not taste plain.
also tried, the mushroom swiss burger, the burger was great, well-seasoned, the swiss cheese actually had flavor, which isn’t usually the case with other restaurants. good size serving of french fries, their menu stated that the fries were steak fries but i got crinkly fries which i didn't mind.

we also had the 1⁄2 bbq chicken plate with two side, green beans and mac and cheese. the chicken and mac and cheese were nothing special, the green beans were well seasoned and flavored with bacon. but you can get the same thing at bill millers.
over all good experience, they have a full bar and beer drink specials everyday of the week. my family and i would return, this is a low key spot to watch a sports game, and enjoy some bar food.

it's not what it used to be!. i use to go there at least once a week, but recently the portions have shrunk, and the quality of food is less to be desired. the brisket is dry, and they give you more fat then meat!

horrible food. if you enjoy horrible food and horrible service i suggest you dine at big lou's burgers & bbq. food is horrible. service is ridiculous. i have ate there on a couple of occasions because i believe in second chances. huge mistake. do not eat at big lou's burgers & bbq.

great bbq. have been there about 5 times never have tried the burgers because the bbq is so good have tried brisket chicken ribs cannot say anything bad very flavorful not dry and very filling but i would be nice if they added rice as a side to go with the beans

excellent burgers. was not disappointed with big lou's burgers. also, very appreciated that they don't have the same setup and cashiers as their pizza place.

really good burger and bbq place to complement its sister pizza place. the brisket burger was really good and the bbq sauce has a smoked pecan taste. the place has a biker bar/rustic look which i personally like for a burger joint. great place to watch football with all the tvs
