crossete is crap. tried out beverleys...guess because of all the rave reviews. however, we were definitely disappointed. most of the reviewers must be on drugs because there is nothing at all special about mediocre egggs, watery ham, overcooked bacon and surly, smart-mouthed waitress who kept patronisingly calling us "dear", "sweeties", "darling" and then ignoring us by not coming back to table with butter, not checking if we wanted anything else, ignoring to bring us our bill....on the way out, she actually stopped my husband and tapped the bill to tell him we forgot the tip. oh no we didn't! nobody gets a tip for ignoring their customers and patronising us like care patients in an old-aged peoples' home. this place is not special, it's pathetic. forget it, get over it, and move on.

now that we have left our sweltering summer weather behind, weather is perfect for outdoor running and i can flee the monotony of the treadmill. with that in mind, my family and i headed over to fort desoto park and enjoyed a lovely four mile run. after o

we figured since this place was so crowded and we had to wait ... outside ... for a table, that it would be really good. wrong. we also waited a ling while to get our food from our surly waitress. eggs benedict was okay. my husband finally met an omelet that he didn't like! the only saving grace was the home fries. not worth $25 for the two of us.

great food! three different choices of breads for your french toast, wonderful omelets and friendly service, but beware it does get hot sometimes when the place is packed.

although i'm not overwhelmed by the omlettes, the crepes, eggs, bacon, and other breakfast fare were excellent. there may be just a hint of "whirl" about the dishes, but it's all good.

excellent. had the eggs, canadian bacon, and brie on a croissant. very fresh. home fries delicious. only drawback, can be crowded and some of the tables are very close together.

pleasantly surprised!. i haven't forgotten about this place in the nearly three years since we had breakfast there. great hole in the wall/locals kind of joint. hangover omlet!!!

great breakfast spot. this place draws the crowds for a reason - you'll be hard pressed to find a better breakfast in south pinellas. they have an extensive menu with plenty of options - including healthy alternatives. the food is always fresh and the portions are huge. the pecan pancake is so tasty - and it fills the plate. the hollandaise sauce is excellent and if you like hollandaise there are about 10 different items that include it. the only downside is the grits are run of the mill and not as good as they should be. the place is kind of small so don't expect a lot of room, it's not uncomfortable, but don't be surprised if your table is inches from another. the waitresses constantly circulate with coffee - ensuring your cup is never empty. beverly, the owner, is always there and the waitresses have been there forever. this means the place is run well, they work well as a team, and they recognize and value their regulars.

good breakfast. generous servings and friendly staff. can get quite crowded and always has a wait on the weekend. the benedict is worth it!

cmm. loved this place! will definitely go back. biscuits and gravy were amazing, and i'm not from the south so this was a special treat :)

best breakfast by far!. i give it a five out of five! my family and i have been going to st. pete's beach for years and we just discovered beverly's on our visit last week. excellent food and reasonable prices. where else can you get a "hangover omlet" or a homemade croissant and crepe! btw, crepe was topped with fresh blueberries and whip cream! the pancake for 2.25 was bigger than the dinner plate it came on and enough to feed my hubby and two kids! sooo good!

i had a really tasty omelett. the home fries were some of the best ever. they seem to be pretty busy with a number of regulars.
