barrio tacos

good tacos. i custom made a few tacos. they were pretty good. not sure i tasted all the ingredients that i selected in the taco(like cheese) and probably not as much meat as i would like. i enjoyed the chips & queso. the place is probably a touch too pricey but you're paying for the neighborhood(tremont). the atmosphere is very nice and i highly recommend sitting outside if the weather permits.

tasty tacos, fun restaurant. barrio tacos is a delicious find in lakewood. the tacos are fresh and made to order, the guacamole is to die for. the staff members are very nice and the chefs even come out to the tables to see if you enjoyed the food. i have put this restaurant on our regular rotation and would recommend it to anyone who is a taco fan.

service was okay. server seemed annoyed by our presence. sour cream was slightly frozen.

not my type of good mexican restaurant!. when you are used to be eating in good mexican restaurants, and then you try el barrio, it's like you think about this restaurant like a glorified fast food restaurant! sauce for the chips where like taken from a "sofrito goya" bottle, so not seem they make there!

also tacos are not the best tacos in the area. if you are looking for good mexican restaurant, go please to a real mexican restaurant so you could enjoy the real flavors of mexico;)

i have one word for this place, awesome!

i went to the location in lakewood. i arrived around 5, and it wasn't really busy, which was contrary to the last time i went on december 30th. i don't know if it was because it was close to new year's, but the place was jam packed, and with a wait over an hour i didn't stay. anyways, there were plenty of tables when i went tonight, and the service was good.

i ordered one "hasta la vista baby" taco, and created two of mine own. i got a side of pickled vegetables and rice as well. the tacos and vegetable were all good, although they mixed up the salsa on one of the tacos i created. the rice was just plain white rice, which was a lite disappointing. overall a good meal. everything had good flavor and the meat was very tender.

love food however last night after waiting to be seated a large party arrived and was seated before our party which had been waiting when asked why they were seated ahead of us we were told it was owners brother

barrio-lakewood. this review is for the lakewood location. hubby and i have been there half a dozen times and really enjoy this place. hasta la vista is on the premade menu suggestions. it is a go to comfort food. pork, tangy sauce, crunchy goodness. polenta taco was a special one evening and i hope they bring it back! tried the tofu taco by mistake ( i ordered chicken but they brought the wrong taco to my table) i didn't complain. it was delish. tofu was fried up and crispy. would try that one again. house salsa is not sweet like so many "mexican joints". has an acquired taste that i now love. regular guac is not very seasoned but the special guacs that they serve are tasty. we had one with goat cheese and balsamic vinegar -it was awesome. small tables in the bar are not my fave spots to enjoy my grub, prefer the larger ones in the dining room. i cannot remember the male server's name (guy with ponytail) but he is friendly and engaging and will not steer you wrong with recommendations. try this place!

mixed. cool atmosphere. first visit was really good. second not so much. my food didn't taste like it did the first time. guacamole was awful! they did not add salt or lime juice, it was just mushed avocado. too busy and the waiters were not that nice or helpful, or knowledgable. margarita was fantastic. cheap bill though- dine out for 2 under $15

lakewood location i was not that impressed. it was decorated nicely but i came for the tacos. had the guacamole and found it to be lacking depth very one note and not a good note. had the garbage bowl it lacked flavour. had the fish taco which was very good with jicama salad . the chorizo was too salty and not edible. pulled pork, beef and chicken were ok at best. the saving grace was that tacos were just 3 bucks however the sour cream was $1.00 for a small side this is a must to make the garbage bowl edible. it was very loud and the wait staff were not very helpful.

i'd rather have a more expensive meal that i enjoyed.

meh.. a friend and i went to barrio in lakewood for the first time. i was underwhelmed. the queso was completely unappetizing and resembled congealed vanilla pudding. pretty much inedible. the tacos and chips are fried there on the premises and decent enough. the tofu taco threw me for a loop because they were like fried nuggets in a sweet and sour type sauce. it wasn't bad, just unexpected. i will say the chipotle honey sauce was superb. i could eat that on anything. i think if i'm craving quick tex mex and a beer, i'll go to taco tontos next time.

it totally is the happy dog of tacos so that's what you should go in expecting. fun time, not awesome service.

if you’re in the mood for some cheap and delicious tacos, your best bet is to check out barrio in tremont. enjoy the atmosphere, stuff yourself with complimentary chips and salsa, and wash it all down with a nice, cold house made margarita!

quality food/great happy hour. the tacos at barrio are great if you know what flavors go together. if you aren't sure they have a good mix of chef inspired tacos. happy hour tacos are a good deal. you pay for what you get here when it comes to the food. it is worth it. service is a little shaky and seemed understaffed at the bar. they were friendly, just didn't have very good service. will be back for happy hour!!!

i was skeptical when i heard about this place, but was very impressed. the decor is very cool. the tacos were very flavorful (meaning various layers of different textures/tastes). the different sauces don't over power or take away from the other delights! the staff very nice and accommodating. asked if they had a certain soda, which they did not, but the waiter offered to give us his from his lunch "unopened" of course. overall impressed!!!!
