bar tonique

i'd give it a 10. cocktails made by professionals, with flair, precision, & care. these guys can make 4 different drinks +   at the same time & not miss a drop. the twirls & swirls are entertainment. it's a old style menu but they make anything you want. the beers, not a beer guy, are ample in choice & flavors from everywhere. its a simple wood bar, walls, with cement floors but its clean & relaxing. on the updated rampart across from armstrong park....its a great place anytime, but best after a night out. its as good a bar as in the city, better than some considered the best. priced better too!

tonique made me fall in love with gin! great mixologists! i love going here more now that there is no smoking. this is my go to bar suggestion for people in the quarter but want to get away from the bourbon area. plus their bloody mary's are phenomenal.

i was first introduced to tonique by friends in the bar/service industry and now it's the only place i like to drink in the quarter. usually locals and they're always playing great music. great $5 cocktails from 3-6p

we owe a lot of our trip to our buddy, mark, since he took us around to all the great bars in nola and made some amazing recommendations for food and drinks. we went to visit his bar, bar tonique, while he was working because he was raving about the bloody mary! great thing about this place is their $5 drink of the day!  the bacon bloody mary is a saturday special.  apparently this sells out so get there earlier. solid bloody mary.  one of the best bloody marys we have ever had.  no dispute.  cocktails here are great.  mark made me a refreshing, spicy drink (my go-to). mark doin’ his magic. overall:  if you are looking for a great cocktail lounge/bar a little outside of the french quarter, come to bar tonique.  specialty: hand-crafted cocktails… expansive menu. they will take care of you.  oh, and mark was voted nola’s hottest up and coming bartenders. no big deal.
