so i now live right across the street from bambinos and i think i have a good perspective on the place as i've been there over 10 times.

the pizza is great. really good charred crust. awesome combinations. very fresh.

calzones are also delicious and a good price as well.

the salads, especially the hazelnut, are also delicious.

finally, the beer selection is so creative. every time i go, always something new and yummy.

now the service. to its credit, it's gotten better. i still wouldn't call it amazing for sure. it just seems some of the staff often bring their b game. this has to be the management there not motivating them properly.

all in all though, i like the place and i recommend it.

rude management. the manager was nasty. i entered bambinos enthusiastically as i was excited to be out on mothers' day with my brother. our mother passed away 31 years ago. the manager yelled across the restaurant for me to quiet down. i told her she could be more professional and speak to me discretely, to which she asked we leave. i certainly will never enter that unwelcoming place again.

its been a while when i visited this pizza place in seattle. i remember a cold night, when me and some friends just strolled into this cafe, for a quick bite. never knew, would be reviewing the place later. but to be true, i like wood-fired pizza, and in that department, the place delivered well.

the day we went, it wasn't very crowded, so don't the everyday scenes. ordered three different pizzas, and the make for all of them was good. just that the cheese on top was a bit too runny. would not recommend this place as such, but that night among all the different eateries, this one stood out.

we stopped at bambino's for a late lunch after the sounders' mls cup victory rally at seattle center. there are plenty of places to eat around there, including a zeek's pizza, but this place was a bit more gourmet looking and my mom wanted to go there.

we got a half genovese/half pepperoni-sausage-olive-mushroom, and a benedetto calzone. also, cheesy breadsticks for the kids.

the pizzas were excellent. i haven't had calzones for a long time, and i'm not sure i like them much. by folding over the dough, it creates a greater dough-to-filling(/topping) ratio than a pizza, and i'm not sure it always works. the calzone was tasty, but i think i'd just get more pizza next time.

as with most gourmet pizza restaurants, the options for kids weren't great. i mean, you could get a plain cheese or pepperoni pizza, but you'd pay gourmet pizza price.

pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, however. all in all, a nice spot.

7:00 rezzie - service was pleasant and helpful all around. our order made it to us quickly. had a beer mix up and our waiter not only brought me a different beer but paid for a second. :)
quiet atmosphere - nice for conversation. however, closer cafeteria seating in many spots.
i thought the pizza had really yummy crust. i typically like the heartier, chewy dough with the slight crisp outter crust. like a pretzel. nom, nom... middle was a bit doughy though.
ingredients and portions were significant probably the culprit. meatballs were nothing too crazy but the bread twists that came with them were delish. olive "assortment" was only two types of olives but there was a big bowl so good for the cost.
satisfied my italian craving for sure. :)

absolutely the worst customer service i have experienced in a long time!. the pizza is okay, but the service here is terrible! i ordered a pizza for delivery and paid for it over the phone. an hour and 1/2 later still no pizza, so i called and the woman told me that the driver had left and she would try to find out where he is and get back to me....well, no phone call back and 20 minutes later, still no pizza. so i called back and told her to cancel my order and refund my money and she told me that she was not able to do that. she said the pizza is on its way and she can't reverse the charges. are you kidding me? if someone can put a charge through on your debit card, they can take it off. the pizza finally arrived and the delivery guy, whom the woman on the phone told me was the new owner, had no idea that the pizza was so late and i told him that i didn't want it any longer and i had cancelled the order. he told me to just go ahead and take the pizza and we wouldn't be charged for it. well, we were charged for it! so, i had to contest the charge to my debit card, and finally got a refund. total waist of time and we will never order from them again!!!!!!

crust hard on bottom, then doughy - ingredients good. we made our own: margarita pizza with mushrooms, and half italian sausage and half spicy calabrese sausage.

the ingredients are very good, but didn't care for the crust. nice crispy crust on the bottom, but then doughy under the toppings. hard to cut. as the pizza cooled, it hardened even more. even the mozzarella hardened.

will not return as there are better options in seattle.

my friends and i were out in seattle on friday having a few beers when we realized we were hungry and decided pizza would be just the thing to have. since bambino’s pizzaria was just around the corner from where we were it made the perfect place to try and satisfy our hunger.

we walked around the area and found bambino’s which seemed like a decent place. it had a gastown look and feel with brick walls, and a real gas-burning pizza oven! it’s dark and cozy with friendly staff. i love it when restaurants serve chilled water in glass bottles. it eliminates the hassle of having to ask for water every time the cup is empty. i noticed that the label on the glass said 12% alcohol. it puzzled me since i knew it was water – not alcohol. upon examining, i found out it’s a wine bottle from canada! then, i found it was made in bc – oh wait, it says victoria! haha…we come all the way down to seattle, and end up drinking seattle water out of a wine bottle from victoria, bc. i got the calzoni pietro $9 made with tomato sauce, mozzarella, chick

great beer selection. i found a new favorite beer, unobroue la fin du monde. the atmosphere was superb. beautiful brick walls and woodwork dimly lit by the soft glow of lights. we stopped in because of the "craft beer" sign while waiting for our reservations at the space needle. the pizza was very good - colorosa. our next trip to seattle will definitely include a stop here.
