...let me take you with us on a journey to meat nirvana;bahbqcrows nest. crows nest was a little further afield than some of our usual jaunts, but the promise of the best brazilian barbeque in sydney had us jumping on the friendly red m20 in search of satiation and meat sweats. we arrived at the venue and stepped through the door and were immediately struck by the décor, which somehow managed to be both sumptuously decadent and at the same time reassuringly warm and comforting. they were also rocking my favourite kind of lighting – the dim kind. i could go on for hours about the beautifying qualities of the merciful and generous dim light, but now is not the time, we have a meat journey to complete. we were shown to our seat, not by a disinterested and perfunctory teen who wouldn’t know customer service if it slapped her over the face, but instead by a charming, attentive and professional brazi

having been to a few brazilian bbq style restaurants when they hit the sydney food scene in early 2000s i have been reluctant to try any new ones. you usually end up leaving full ( not in a great way) having loaded up on the carb loaded side plates and chasing the premium cuts of meats which somehow are always finished before they get to your table. bahbqwas a refreshing change! the waitstaff were incredibility friendly and attentive. the meat was delicious- cooked amazingly and never in short supply. the waiters even made a point of asking if there were particular items our table was after. cocktails were dangerously delicious - at $64 per head+ drinks slightly on the exxier side but  worth it. would definitely go back again

lowdown: we came to this place for one reason and one reason only… churrasco! no menu required, just an ongoing bombardment of various spit roasted meats, which are prepared with "dry rub seasonings, fine herbs, brines, marinades and glazes”. this is the type of place you go to, where the meat is soo tender, so lovingly prepared, that no sauces or extras are required. the meat varies from beef (rib, flank, rump cap, tri tip), lamb (rump, ribs), pork (sausage, belly, chorizo), and chicken (wing, thigh, heart… yes heart). my personal favourite was the rump cap!
but everyone knows a delicious meal requires the satisfaction of the sweet tooth… sweet tooth, meet caramelised grilled pineapple - maybe thebahbqteam can confirm, but it tastes as though the pineapple has been pampered with cinnamon and given a lil brown sugar. the result is a mouth watering fruit which has you begging for more… even though you feel like you have eaten your own weight in food…

pro tip: don’t fill up on the salad, or polenta sticks, or fried banana… have a bit, stay hungry, and enjoy what is heading your way. don’t be afraid to ask for double or triple serves each time something comes your way. no matter how full you believe you are, make sure you have a slice (or 10) of the bbq’d pineapple.

first time atbahbqbrazilian grill for a work function, the food was fantastic with a variety of meats, chicken and sausages. atmosphere was just right and staff was friendly even thought they where busy caving up the food.

for the love of meat, you need to try out bahbq. all-you-can-eat churrasco is one of my biggest loves in life, thank goodness there's quite a few of these in sydney, and i have to saybahbqis probably one of the finest in food quality & service. 

i went here with a hungry group of 7, and we all made the drive from the eastern suburbs to the lower north shore because we are just hungry meat-eating animals and love any sort of all-you-can-eat. at first, the service was quite slow, and we only had a 2-hour sitting so we were wondering why we weren't getting served any food within the first 10 minutes.. but soon as the first person came to our table serving us bread with dips, it was a never-ending cycle of people serving us meat & delicious grilled delights that we kept saying yes to. 
definite favourites were: the grilled pineapple, pork belly, haloumi cheese, pork sausage, and pretty much all the beef pieces. if you've never been to a churrasco restaurant before, my advice would be to take it slow & don't eat fast.. make sure to leave enough room to try each thing, little by little, and after trying it all, you know which ones are the favourite ones so you can order more of that till you are pretty much bloated. 

we had no room for dessert and we were done by an hour and a half, and wow, i slept so good that night, you will do as well if you end up visingbahbqfor a meat fest dinner!

the food was delicious.bahbqoffers a different and interesting dining experience. the staff were great and the owner made sure he found a table for us even though we didn't book. highly recommended.

ever been to a brazilian bbq or churrasco? we hadn't for ages so we jumped at the chance to visitbahbqat crows nest to revisit meat on skewers in all shapes and sizes. we had of course been warned to bring our appetites as it was going to be a big meal!

... we decided to just go with somewhere we know we love that has guaranteed great food and a relaxing dining experience. so away we went, booked a table for two atbahbqin crows nest to engorge ourselves with lots of meat. the thought of eating unlimited amount of brazilian barbeque meats can be intimidating, but rest assured they give you smaller pieces if that's what you fancy or you can ask for more slices if you're keen for it.

i've been tobahbq3 times now and have every intention on coming back because the food here is absolutely amazing! the service is impeccable, the staff are so friendly and the manager is especially attentive of all his customers.

i went tobahbqbrazilian grill for dinner last night. so i found out aboutbahbq- brazilian grill located in crows nest, in sydney's lower north shore from a young lady who is brazilian and knows latin american cuisine well. the food, cristiane told me, reminds her of how it was back home in brazil when she had sunday lunch with her family. speaking with jose, the restaurant owner, he reaffirmed that the dining experience atbahbqbrazilian grill replicates what sunday lunches would be like with family in brazil. i didn’t really know what authentic brazilian food was at first and it was such a pleasure to learn more about this cuisine this weekend.   the word “bah” is exclusive to the gaucho people of the pampas border of southern brazil, whose culture is based around cattle breeding and agriculture. being a very simple bunch, and very rustic, they love wood fire barbecues, and plenty of food on the table. ambience and locationbahbqbrazilian grill is situated in the heart of crows nest, in sydney’s lower north shore. the establishment has a rustic, inviting warm feel to it with hospitality of the staff to match. you will see the iron bark wood displayed across the wall which is used to burn to bbq the meats they serve you. the kitchen is an open area where they bbq all the meats and watching the staff grilling and carving the meats is a delightful and interesting experience in itself.

a fun restaurant offering excellent brazilian bbq meat. you can’t go past churrasco which allows you to sample the huge variety of meats and side dishes on offer. little ones can even partake in churrasco or choose from the kid’s menu. it really is a family affair here atbahbqand little ones are always made to feel welcome.

when you visit a brazilian bbq restaurant, you never expect to leave hungry. this is definitely the case atbahbqbrazilian grill in crows nest. their meat and sides are legendary and i highly recommend their churrasco ($49) which gives you the opportunity to try the best of what they have on offer. churrasco is available to children under 10 years for half the adult price ($24.50). we visited on saturday evening and the restaurant was full. nearly half the tables with babies and children. the noise and fun vibe makes it a great option for little ones.

when you think world cup in 2014, host nation brazil is at the forefront and there really isn’t a better time for sydneysiders to hit a brazilian restaurant. we check into the not-so-bahbahbqfor an evening of churrasco eats. its tucked away round the back in crows nest but a surprising great churrasco. unlike the last one we went to – where we were literally chasing the waiter (at the now closed favela)…this filled us right up. i think we had about 15 courses and we could have had more but hey, ymmv. really delicious meats in your belly. bah bq is a largeish venue and there’s ample seating – from the looks of their instagram, lots of people come here to celebrate. birthdays and the ilk. it can cope with large groups. delicious reds. a selection of sides to start/complement the meals (top left clockwise): potato salad, bean salad, rice pilaf, rocket salad and a selection of cheesebread, polenta chips, banana fritters and plantain. condiments. there’s a few few and you’re meant to pair

sensational brazilian churrasco. we have been eating atbahbqregularly over the last 18 months. the meat is well sourced and perfectly cooked. the accompanying dishes are great. the wine is good and well priced. the dining room is nicely fitout, contemporary but unmistakably brazilian.

this is a great restaurant. we used to go at lunchtime but they now only operate in the evening. we have young children so the sunday night service seems to work well for us. try it - you won't be disappointed.
