okay...but. just wanted a light dinner and drinks, bar was crowded at 5:00 pm. sat at a table. i had ordered apps while i waited for my date.

apparently we stayed chatting too long, we were asked "nicely" and very tactfully to feel free to move to the bar where there was now a table available.

tactful very, we finished our evening elsewhere and had dinner there.

the bill for apps and drinks was over $60. not unusually priced, but i've never been asked to give up a small cramped table before. perhaps it was his tie?

our waitress was very attentive and polite. service, even just for drinks was very good. i hope our tip was worth our social faux pas.

the winter menu is savory and satisfying, but the service is still slow. i always get the ceviche, but tonight it was just oh hum. however, the lamb/beef empanadas induced the "happy food dance"!

wonderful, inventive food. my wife and i thought this was one of the best meals we've had in months (and we eat all our meals in restaurants). i had the hangar steak, which was grilled perfectly to order, with a flavorful rub and nice sides (a spicy salsa and grilled polenta cake).
my wife is vegetarian and gets tired of the constant array of "vegetarian pasta" dishes that most restaurants offer. she had the vegetarian tomate relleno, a roasted poblano pepper stuffed with polenta and cheese. she said it was excellent and it looked good enough that i, a carnivore, would consider ordering it.

always have had a great meal at asado. the hanger steak is fantastic. the burger in the bar during happy hour is a great value too.

asado steak house. this is a hip and vibrant atmosphere with just the right amount of flair and ingenuity when it come to their cuisine. the argentine style steaks, purple puruvian garlic potatoes , all work so well together! my first experience was a memorable one for both my wife and i. i'd reccomend this for that special occasion or just a nice dinner out without the kids.

wonderful food !!. i've lived in tacoma my entire life and i justvwent to asado for the first time a few weeks ago. the food was delicious and they offer a wide range of foods from steaks, chieck, fish, shrimp, pastas, and appetizers. the bread and sauces were to die for and the wine selection was great. there were five of us and although the total was around $300, it was well worth it (but of course my dad paid for me) .... it is worthy even if you sit at the bar and order a drink and appetizers. we went there on a weekday but i have heard it does get a little too noisy on the weekends where it is hard to hear the person you're talking to... but it definitely is a cool place and it is located next to other fantastic bars like masa!

full of flavor!!! there's nothing on the menu i wouldn't recommend. the owner has been a little snooty for no real reason but the rest of the staff has always been wonderful. rachel, the bartendress, is fab (if she's still there)! get there early or call ahead for a table...it gets pretty packed.

the steak and polenta were exceptional. both the quality of the meat and the preparation were great. we also enjoyed a very tasty malbec and a delicious dessert. the excellent food and service make up for the fact that it is too noisy to have a conversation, at least on a friday.

great!. it was pretty good for lunch. i wouldn't say it is completely authentic argentinean cuisine, but i still enjoyed the food. i had the chorizo and clams which was good but i wish there was more food for the price that we paid. overall, an enjoyable experience and i would go again!

if you got to almost any steak house in north america, if you order your meat well done and people will look at you with a certain degree of disapproval. however, if you choose to go to certain parts of the world...

a special treat on a changing 6th ave. the revitalization of tacoma's 6th ave is really impressive there are so many quality places to eat in this area. head and shoulders above the others is asado the food is melt in your mouth take you another planet wonderful. it's not a very large place so it can get very crowded. but you can still feel cozy in the surrounding atmosphere, a definate must try for those in the south sound.

happy hour is great but crowded! yucca fries are nummy and so are the other appetizers! good bloody mary too!
