art's theme stays true even down to the artist palette shaped menus.. art burger•sushi•bar is a restaurant owner larry bond dreamt up from his mother’s love of art and his father’s love of burgers. larry is a legit restaurant industry professional; from training in the art of making sushi in tokyo (where he met his head sushi chef), to his days in italy spent cooking alongside genuine italian grandmothers. this dedication and respect to all the facets of food clearly shows in his restaurant.
as you walk through art your attention is immediately taken by the 10 ever-changing led wall-hanging art displays. there is also a large section of local art on exhibit in the entrance, all of which are for sale. a glass top sushi bar stretches down the left side of the restaurant directly into the bar. the end of the bar boasts a custom built liquid nitrogen mixer, complete with two massive liquid nitrogen tanks. what in the world could that equipment possibly be for, you may ask. how about transforming your favorite cocktails instantly into frozen treats right before your very eyes. it is quite impressive and dangerously delicious.
art cleverly utilizes locally sourced meat from keegan filion farms. this means all of art's beef, chicken and pork are responsibly raised with no hormones or antibiotics. now to the dishes themselves. there was a precise level of care in the handling of my remington burger which was obvious in how the kitchen maintains high standards in its attention to detail in the food's preparation and presentation. the burger's med-rare texture was perfectly lush and dense while presenting just the right amount of chewy resistance. the meat:bun ratio: flawless. however, the side of sweet potato fries were a little on the limp side, but still had good flavor.
the sargent black bean burger was nothing to take lightly either. this was not your out of the freezer section vegetarian burger. the house made black bean patty was well-seasoned, cooked to perfection, and blanketed with swiss cheese, roasted red peppers and grilled onions. every bite delivered a savory rush of awesomeness. the bean:bun ratio: flawless again. let’s not forget the side order of kale slaw...wow it was phenomenal!
