went here for my bf’s birthday. it’s a 2 and a half hour drive for the bustling makati on a saturday morning. we wanted to have dinner but they had a wedding that night so we just opted for lunch. service is superb and the food is crazy good. we had the mint glazed lamb chops and the antonio’s trio consisting of the beef fillet, prawn thermidor and lamb. i highly recommend picking the organic greenssaladand the dark chocolate souffle. place is rustic but a bit modernized. reminds me of the ruins in bacolod. would definitely come back here!

the ambience of antonio's is definitely something else and i can see why so many people see it is as /the/ celebration or date place.

the bone marrow was delicious and the raclette went really well with the various toppings provided. thesaladwas fresh and satisfying and the soup was rich and warmed me right up. the pineapple sorbet that was served as a palate cleanser was really tasty, and this is coming from someone who doesn't eat ice cream.

the steak was flavorful and cooked just right, and the fried onions added a nice texture. however, to be honest, it didn't really set itself apart from other steaks (even ones cooked at home). the grilled prawns were disappointing, clashing with the taste of the other elements of the dish.

the star of the night for me was the dark chocolate souffle. it was somehow rich and light at the same time, and the creme anglaise complemented it perfectly.

as good as the food was, however, the prices were much too exorbitant. you're really paying for the ambience. but if we're talking about food, i don't think it's worth coming back (except if i could have the souffle on its own).

we celebrated mil’s birthday here. the last time we ate here was years ago and we thought of bringing the kids this time around.

antonio’s never disappoints... service was impeccable and there was not one dish we didn’t like. yes it is pricey but you get what you pay for - unique, perfectly done and delectable food from thesaladto the dessert.

we ordered: lamb chops, short ribs, roasted duck breast, grilled prawns and sole. the kids got beef salpicao and fish & fries. i’d come back for the duck breast but the lamb chops are a close second.

we chose to dine at antonio's for our couple's anniversary. right off the bat, we were welcomed into a driveway that revealed a modest-sized manor. instantly, i figured that the experience would be a warm and hospitable one, as if visiting a gracious host's house.

now, i would like to get this out of the way before anything else, as this was sort of a pet peeve with any other restaurant who does this. i am to admit that this was my first time at antonio's and like a lamb left unattended in the fields, we were there to enjoy the evening and run with it, i.e., whatever was to be found on the menu. that also meant we were quite agreeable to suggestions. while the menu was pricey, it was a trivial matter since we were there ready to spend anyway. after a brief orientation from a server, we explored the menu, during which we were suggested to have some "house juice", i.e. some special dalandan juice with exquisite pulp frozen in the ice cubes. we said yes to that, but eventually when the bill got to us, it was then that we realized how naive it was for us to expect the item to be free or at least priced sensibly to our expectations. i mean, it was for a pitcher of native lime juice after all. so for anyone planning to dine, beware of suggestions and make sure you're ordering what you expect to pay for. the pitcher of juice was about $20 by the way 800 to 1000 php from what i recall. that's all i'm saying.

on to the experience; i would say that the service was superb. all servers were trained to know how the dishes are cooked and prepared. they were attentive, at least when they were looking at our table's direction, as it seemed that there were a lot of shuffling and movement for servers on the floor. they kept tabs on the progress of our dining to know if it was time to serve the next part of the course. they would pleasantly ask how the food was, eager for feedback as it was probably for protocols' sake as well.

we had a soufflé for our appetizer, the gruyere and portobello soufflé. it was an excellent start as it had that "meaty" taste and texture simulated by the mushrooms and of course the thick cheese that made it all the more tasty.

as we had ordered an entree designed to be served as a course, we were served a housesaladnext. it was all right, although i had dreaded they would put arugula in it as the menu seemed to show that they had a penchant for serving arugula in their ala carte salads; i was right. and so i ate less those leaves, as there was no love lost.

there was some soup, too, but regrettably forgettable.

we ordered the grilled dry aged angus prime rib eye steak for our entree and i can absolutely say that this was an excellent dish. in fact, once we began eating, i found it hard to recall the last best steak i had; and trying to remember now, it's maybe a bit better if not as good as the steak from the timed-buffet we had in rokkasen in tokyo, japan. tender, tasty, and juicy, the flavors were enhanced with how they pre-prepared the beef. no condiments were needed, but they had 6 beside the platter just in case. it had horse radish, chili, mustard, a special sauce, salt, and garlic cloves.

as for the desserts, the course meal allowed us to choose whatever we wanted and so we ordered the dark chocolate soufflé and paired it with a scoop of amadeo coffee ice cream. the combination was definitely meant to be.

the venue's ambience was tranquil and the pace was calm. no one was rushing anyone and the word i would use to describe the atmosphere is "pleasant". the seats were comfortable and the table size was appropriately generous. the washrooms were decorated and maintained well and every other customer seemed to genuinely have a very good time. antonio's is a must-experience restaurant.

antonio's will always have the best ambiance and service... but please bring back the old menu... 😢 no more candied walnuts in their salad, which i always save the best for last. what happened to the beef plancha? no more foiè gras! 😢 where is the antonio's trio? gone is the black truffle... 😢 and the dessert selections... that's 😢😢😢... where is the felchlin maracaibo chocolate terrine with double cream & roasted pistachio and the flourless chocolate cake...

change has come...

the only good choice i made is to upgrade mysaladto burrata on bruschetta...

🐽 food: we're a family of four, but we decided to get 3 entrees only. all entrees come with salad, soup of the day, dessert and a choice of coffee/tea. we ordered: roasted lamb cutlets, housemade balsamic pasta and visayas blue crab oriental ravioli. fromsaladto soup to main dish(es) to dessert... i personally enjoyed everything. happy i got to try a little bit of the meals we ordered. but what stood out for me was theirsaladand balsamic pasta. the green tea macaron dessert was also amazing. one of the best i've tasted in my life.

🍹 drinks: they have a section outside called lanai lounge which is known as their bar. cocktails are served here, but we didn't try it during our visit. special events can be hosted in this area too.

🍴ambiance: the place was lovely! it's very relaxing and inviting to the soul with all the nice plants and perfect weather. a good place to dine in for a special date or an important family celebration. it's also a good reco for tourists to see.

👫 service: i applaud their very accommodating staff. they know their menu well. during the end of our meal though, we had to follow up on our bill twice.

💸 price: it's really quite pricey but i guess the whole experience makes up for it.

my 5th time to this restaurant and my enchantment continues. ..... this is the best restaurant i've been to ever. the ambience of a large old house, the trappings of fine dining (white table cloth, starched white napkins, top class crockery & cutlery) plus impeccable service makes antonio's great. and then, the food - i've always found it top class and tasty.

starting off with their excellent housesaladof mesclun in a raspberry vinaigrette with blue cheese crumble. superb! followed by soup of the day, which was very good.

for mains, my partner had duo of mayura beef and lamb cutlet. the beef was really good on a fantastic gratin. the lamb was fantastic with the caramel and prunes sauce. i had the roasted duck breast in a cabernet sauvignon jus - with pan seared foie gras and red cabbage.

for dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake with cerveza negra ice cream and salted caramel and the chocolate souffle with cream. both tasted great but we really liked the former. it's a must try.

thank you, antonio's, for another fantastic lunch!

brought my mom and dad to one of the best streak places i've heard in tagaytay. we ordered their mayura tomahawk steak:
mayura station full blood wagyu tomahawk known for its distinct and intense marbling of fat that gives its flavour and tenderness. a minimum cut of 1300g good for three guests, served with mustard garlic chimichurri or steak sauce at a whopping php12,350.00 good for 5 pax which is not bad. it comes with their soup of the day, saladand dessert. it was good but i wish they would do something about the streak and not just leave it on the hot plate since some of it got burnt due to prolonged staying. soup was great (pumpkin) andsaladwas fresh! the ice cream flavors were unique, ordered cerveza negra, vanilla bean and a strawberry sorbet. overall, if you had extra money and want to impress someone, it's ok to spend it here, it matches the tranquil and lovely ambiance.

wow!!! what a meal!!! from the bread served to the dessert. we were there for lunch. they got everything right. everything we ordered was perfectly seasoned. bread was served hot. tasted really fresh and delicious!!! we had oysters (waiter recommended) and blue crab bacalao ravioli for appetisers. oysters were huge and tasty. the blue crab ravioli was interesting, though i probably would have served it ahead of the oysters because the oysters had more flavour. the housesaladmix was perfect. i have no idea what was in it, but everything came together perfectly. pumpkin soup was next. although it was the soup of the day, it didn't taste like it came from a big pot. it tasted like it was prepared fresh before it was served. main course time. of course i had the steak. it was more medium than medium rare, but it was really good. i didn't even bother with the sauce. just the meat with the garlic was enough to make this meat eater happy. my wife had the prawns with risotto which i tasted. i love how you can taste the freshness of the ingredients used. my daughter had a seafood pasta. i had a scallop from that, which was perfectly seasoned again. the flourless chocolate cake with cerveza negra ice cream was very interesting. not too sweet, just the way i like it. the lime panna cotta was the best i have had in my life. i can even rave about the dalandan juice without sweetener and the house blend coffee. of course the bill was a bit steep, but i didn't feel bad paying for it because aside from the good food, the service was great too.

i used to go to antonio’s when i was younger with my father. it’s been a while. my memories served me well; i remembered clearly how it has been .y pops & i's all-time quick gastronomic getaway. from the beginning, antonio's aim has been to provide good quality, homemade food and to create memorable experiences for guests of all ages; in a happy and cozy environment.

we always find a sense of space away from the bustling crowds of makati at antonio's. food is cooked to perfection. not-so-simple dishes that amazingly melts in your mouth, especially the cuts of meat. the so-called corned beef, which i presume is part of the cow's belly, was thickly sliced and well seasoned – paired with your choice of rice and eggs. this dish is locally made, had a great texture to it, chewy and tender, but not an obstacle. this is usually served on mornings alone; another reason why i opted to drive in the wee hours of dawn. thesaladwas so fresh we wouldn’t have been surprised if these has been homegrown from the garden behind the kitchen walls.

having such an extensive menu, that is being updated from time to time, it creates one (happy) problem – how to describe the food when there’s so much to describe. suffice to say that every dish was beautifully balanced, the food was cooked to perfection, the presentation was elegant and the taste combinations were highly imaginative.

everything was just divine. we especially loved the foie grassaladwith caramelized walnuts and the bisque. the steak, however, was medium well and not medium like we asked, but it was tasty and had huge portions to the point that we were satiated 3/4 of the way. the sangria needed a bit of work, but the desserts were just magical. the service and the ambience makes it a great place for intimacy and romance, but you should be ready to shell out at least 4k per person.
