i understand what they’re doing with antique cafe...trying to create a “nature” vibe within the city :-)
it’s lovely with every detail talking to the antique theme. cappuccinos were really good! i had the sweet corn scrambled eggs withlambrashers for breakfast. it was good but i realized i’m not a fan oflambrashers!

beautiful, unique setting with lots to catch the eye and admire decor wise.

service was friendly and efficient.

it was however the food that let this spot down.

thelambflatbread and sandwhich was overwhelmed by the strong tomato flavour (almost as though it hadn't been cooked out for long enough). zucchini and sweet potato fries were soft instead of crispy, though the seasoning was interesting.

overall a little disappointing for such an intially promising spot.

what! no alcohol 😂 oh but the food made up for it. we didn't know you can't drink here for religious reasons , but it needs no drinks anyway. the food was ridiculously good , thelambeverything was juicy and succulent - from the chops to the sausage to the "bacon" ! the sweet potato fries. a moment please for these.

ok and then the chilli and tomato chutneys. so i and my mates had a food explosion at breakfast here. i'm sure you can tell. and the price , oh my word , look we're from joburg so anything under r100 puts a worried look on our faces. but nah ah, great value for money was the order of the day.

literally the most darling place i've been to in a while. as you walk in, the hustle and bustle of durban dies down and you find yourself in an eclectic space where colours meet shapes meet mismatched tables yet they all look perfectly comfortable with each other.
it looks like it was decorated by mistake but each piece has a purpose and plays a role in the bigger story.
i was able to order breakfast at 14:30 which just cemented the place in my heart.
i had the sweet potato fritters with caramelized onions &lambsausages. i enjoyed the food but the ambiance of the place outshines the food.
there are actual antique shops on either side of the cafe so you can meander through racks of clothes and trinkets while you digest your meal.. simply gorgeous.

seriously how difficult is it to make a breakfast! i am struggling to see how this place gets a coffee award. honestly this would be the last of a list of fifty or more coffee or breakfast places i would pick. just gonna put it out therelambrashers dont bother terrible slow service, coffee that is average at best, off milk served. yup cheapish so be it, will not be returning.

really unique place that has a wonderful charm to it. the decor really is fascinating an the general ambience is very relaxed. however the food took a long time and the service wasn't the greatest either with two forgotten drink orders. it wasn't that busy either so i'm not sure why the wait for food was so long.

when the food did arrive it was delicious though. only the eggs were poached hard and i had requested medium. they're halaal and solambrashers instead of bacon; i may never go back! thelambrashers were such a win i wish more places did it. the hollandaise sauce didn't look that nice but the taste more than made up for it.

all in all a nice experience, the food and decor makes up for the slow but friendly service.
