extensive menu selection-something for everybody! everyone at our table was satisfied completely. we took advantage of drink and food specials and were not disappointed at all! great food and excellent service! i will definitely be back!

amphora diner herndon. amphora on elden street in herndon has a great atmosphere for dining. the people working there work very hard to keep the place running well. the servers, kitchen workers, and managers work long and hard hours and have to deal with a lot of customers who could care less about what kind of money is being made by these people that work very hard to make a buck. the servers are very professional and are very hard workers. the customers complain way too much and are very rude most of the time at night and the people working there barely make enough to survive in this area. the food there is very good for breakfast and dinner. the salads there are excellent and the burgers are made to your order and are not pre-frozen. the coffee is an excellent blend from italy. go visit and experience an awesome dinner.

great hometown diner. are you looking for a diner that feels like home? a great place for breakfast that is open 24-hours a day? my husband and i have been having sunday breakfast about twice a month for about thirteen years at amphora. we have never been disappointed - eggs benedict various ways, pancakes, french toast, the 'all-the-way' bagel to mention a few. the menu is extensive and the kitchen will make any adjustments that you ask for. we love that waiters and waitresses have been there for years and we have gotten to know many (mary and shawn) -- the service is always wonderful. it is wonderful to have a great place that is comfortable. in addition i host a group one saturday a month for breakfast of anywhere from six to fifteen and the staff always goes out of their way to make us comfortable. the carry-out bakery items are wonderful - if you are ever in doubt and need a dessert try the white chocolate raspberry mousse cake! if you are looking for a comfortable place, with good food and a wonderful staff i recommend stopping by.

amphora - herndon's own diner. amphora is herndon's own diner. it's open 24 - 7, 365 days a year. they offer an extensive selection of breakfast meals, most served all day. lunch and dinner are also plentiful, from standard diner fare - burgers, cheese steaks, hot open-face sandwiches - to higher-end meals such as the bistro steak. if you're a vegetarian, or just looking for lighter fare, the amphora will meet your needs as well. try the excellent garden burger or the falafel, or one of the excellent dinner salads. a particularly enticing salad is the caribbean salad, an inviting melange of field greens and fresh fruit accented with honey roasted walnuts.

no matter what you like, chances are you can find it at the amphora. oh, and they offer beer, wine, and cocktails.

good eats. i first ate at amphora in 1993, i find the service, food quality and attitude of the employees at amphora to be excellent. the restaurant is always clean and neat. if i could change anything it would be the salsa; theirs is overcooked and contains celery, both of which ruin the bright flavor of traditional mexican salsa.

amphora's is great!. i have been a frequent customer since 2002. since then i have chosen amphora's for all of my weekend breakfast, team meeting lunches and casual dinners.

it is like family there. i will recommend this restaurant to everyone! added bonus, they have wi-fi.

once a week or more.... we come from reston and eat here at least once a week--usually for dinner, but sometimes for a hamburger lunch or late breakfast/brunch. our family and friends from out of town and other nova locations like to come here with us. we also belong to a group which has its annual banquet at the ad. i like the variety; my husband tends to order the same items.

when is a diner more than a diner?. my wife and i manage to eat at the amphora diner at least once a week. food's always good and the friday night prime rib is nicely priced and feeds us both. we have several favorites, but don't hesitate to try new dishes as they surface. the menu is somewhat daunting, but there aren't many dishes missing from their repertoire. their desserts are a bit fancy for us, but we've always enjoyed them when we've succumbed. the international wait staff knows us and are always swift and friendly.

wonderful casual dining. my wife and i are regulars, being there almost every sat morning for brunch and about 2-3 other times during the month. of course the friendly wait staff knows us. we usually sit at the counter -- everyone going by will offer to fill our coffee or drink -- and they know our preferences. we've had lots of the items on their menu -- our regular sat brunch is the 2 eggs over easy with rye toast, the best in the area with great home fries and excellently done eggs.

i can recommend the amphora diner in herndon unconditionally, if you're anywhere close, drop by. we like it !!

just ask...they've got it. my wife and i are regulars. we know most of the waitstaff by name and they know us, and our favorite beverages and food. the waitstaff backgrounds are fascinating when you get to know them a little. their command of languages is impressive, with russian, pashto, arabic, french, dari, nepalese, greek, and of course spanish and english. the food variety is large, with mediterranean and traditional american dominating. this is a very popular place with airline aircrews. pasta dishes are substantial and delicious. you won;t leave hungry.

disappointing dessert. we went to amphora after the movies for desserts and coffee. i ordered their carrot cake. when the server brought it to our table, it was 75% icing and 25% cake. the piece was about the size of a deck of cards. i sent it back and was so disappointed.

just "fine". i like amphora because it is open at all hours, something handy so close to the airport. the bakery is amazing but the diner is *not*. the food is mediocre and in huge portions. for the quality you get, the price is also out of proportion i feel. as i said, i do eat here and can eat nearly anything on their menu, but none of it would be my first choice.

very good diner. not a great diner but a very good one. have eaten here for last five years since moving to area. the food is not great but it is very good for the area. can not say i have had lunch ever here but many many breakfasts and dinners. i usually eat a good breakfast 24x7 so thats what i do here. my wife likes to spread it around a bit and usually has no complaints. when things are off it appears to be a random cook as quality is usually very good. hard to find but one of the better stops in herndon.

better then ihop. if your looking to spend a little extra on the food then this place is where you want to go at 3 in the morning, though the numerous times i've been here the service has sucked a huge one.

great place if you aren't sure what you're hungry for. they have a little bit of everything, and it's all good. the eggs benedict are quite good, as are the sandwhiches.
