we live a scant ten minute drive from this establishment so we tend to go about once a month or so, and with good reason.  you never leave hungry due to the massive lavosh bread they send to the table (and we always clean the yogurt dipping sauce plate.)  we also tend to lean toward chicken dishes which are at a slightly lower price point.  the curry and kebobs are quite tasty and the sides work well with the proteins.  the garden salad they offer is fresh and bountiful enough to be shared and is a great complement to the steaming hot bread.  overall a nice experience and a good value.

we really like this place. we tend to do more take out from here than eating in. best gyros, and best fresh poori bread ? or is called naan ?
the inside dining is very casual and you can watch the bread making in the open brick oven.

makes my mouth happy!. this is a regular stop for me. i like to bring first-timers. we always order a lavash, and my favorite is the chicken iskender. i love the combo of the bread, tomato sauce and tzaziki.

it's a very affordable, modest little place up on 15th near rpi, a little out of the way but worth it. there is no alcohol on the menu, but i've seen people bring in their own. this place is the real deal and always filled with people from all walks of life.

this place is delicious, inexpensive, and friendly. my only warning would be to avoid ordering too much food, the portions are massive.

my latest visit to alibaba. if you've never had turkish food, given the geographic location of turkey it's about what you would expect-- somewhere between greek and lebanese food. anyhow, last time when i was here, started with a "appetizer plate", basically you choose five out of ten delicious fresh salad. cost me $9.95+tax and i was impressed.

for the main course i ordered the "isksender kebab" which was quite tasty. it was basically a lamb and beef doner kebab served with a tomato sauce and yogurt. the meat was thin, tasty and moist. best part is it's served on top of croutons of pita turkish bread, made soggy with the delicious juices of the meat. quite satisfied with this choice, i think it cost a little under $9.95+tax or so and the portion was quite big i could not finish so i took some home.

this was the best turkish food i've had, but the isksender kebab at least was above excellent. due to the location and the fact that people in capital district tend to shun ethnic foods which have not already been popularized throughout the nation, i'm a not worried to go this place as it never disappoints. so show some love and drop some money there and get a bellyful of excellent chow.

i ate half and saved half for lunch the next day. it was good and i can’t wait to go back. if you’re looking for some decently priced tasty food (under $9 for a pretty good size personal pizza, most of the other items were cheaper than that) then check out alibaba.

lavish lavash. we've been trying to get here for several years. tonight all the stars unexpectedly lined up behind the clouds. i'm so glad they did.

the menu with pictures is the best thing since sliced brea... oops, their fresh baked lavash rises high above plain sliced bread!!! wonderful.

we started with stuffed grape leaves (8 for $5.95) and thought they were good, but not as good as we've had at athos or those homemade by our friend.

i ordered the lamb tandur ($12.95) which came with rice, sauteed onions and pickled cabbage. the lamb had a good amount of flavor and pulled apart easily but was very dry. wrapped in the lavash and dipped in the yogurt sauce the lamb was quite enjoyable.

my wife had the curry iskender ($9.95) with beef and the same onions and cabbage sides as on my dish. it was a nice flavorful, mediterranean spiced curry. quite tasty.

the portions were large enough that we didn't have room for dessert, but we both had wanted to try the baklava. simple solution, we got the baklava to go - 4 small pieces in an order for $4.95. it had a nice flaky top and sat in a not overly sweet syrup. it hit the spot for that late night snack.

they do not have an alcohol license so choices are your basic sodas (free cup refill), turkish coffee and tea, hot chocolate, american coffee, juices imported from turkey (peach, apricot, sour cherry), and ayran yogurt drink.

best food ever. this is the thing i miss most about the troy/albany area. the lavash bread and yogurt sauce is like heaven in your mouth. the beyti sarma was my favorite dish, but i would recommend anything (except the stuffed grape leaves - they seemed like they came from a jar). the service can be a bit slow, but it is well worth the wait. they also do take out, so if you're short on time that's the best way to go

best turkish food in the region.. i like their food a lot but they are very slow and the bill often comes out to be more than expected.
not exactly turkish per se but their pizza is also quite good.

good experience. we got bread as an app. i can't recall the name of it, but it was puffed up as big as a thanksgiving turkey, and hollow. you pick off pieces and dip it in a sauce. both were great! the entrees were ok, but next time we go back we'll get the pizza - the stone hearth should make for some excellent pizza.
