al zaytoun kabob and grill

a hole in the wall classic.. with little more then six tables in the restaurant, and two outside. al-zaytoun puts out some mighty good food. all the kebabs are juicy and seasoned accordingly. the buffet is a great deal, though it can be dependent on your taste and the selections of the day, but they always have kebabs on the buffet as well. my only criticism is the naan which is more the heavy doughy kind as opposed to the indian kind which is thinner and less airy. also can't forget the mint lemonade.

i had the lamb kabobs, which was yummy. i enjoyed the chick pea side dish the most. the tastes were spot on. the rest of my family had the gyros. very good too. i had the best baklava i've ever tasted. the strip mall is sketchy, but worth it. my husband thought it was a little pricey, but that's him. worth every penny.

so much deliciousness. opted to try a local restaurant instead of a chain while driving thru and i'm so glad we did! we got the chicken and lamb kabob meals, meat was cooked to perfection. it came with naan bread which was insanely fresh, we literally saw them roll out the dough and bake it. it was piping hot when they gave it to us. the hummus was delicious, very creamy. both plates came with a side of your choice i got the chick peas and hubs got the lentils. both were awesome, perfectly seasoned! they give you rice and a small side salad as well. the salad had a nice light yogurt type dressing and they actually give you both brown and white rice which i thought was nice. let's talk about the mint lemonade! it blew our minds... you must try it, super refreshing! the owners were so friendly, we will def be stopping here on all our road trips. loved this place! don't be scared/fooled by the sketchy strip mall. this place is a gem.

just had the best meal i have ever had in virginia!! everything was so flavorful in every right way! we had lamb, beef, and chicken kabobs, humus, curry potatoes, and the best mint lemonade to top it off!! great service, so friendly!

excellent!. food was amazing. the main dude insisted i have the buffet, and i almost never do em. here tho, you might as well. i don't know what the heck they were serving, so the buffet seemed proper. some chickpea action, lotta veggie goodness. chicken something or another. was off the hook.

the service tho - ridiculous. what a stand up lot! they were all very welcoming, very friendly and even hit us off with some free random bonus eats hot off the grill (perhaps because they are familiar with their clientele and did not recognize us. they seemed to have a large amount of "best food ever, i love coming here like i always do" dialogue from the regulars to the owners).

very clean, very friendly, very delicious and very cheap! two peeps can eat tons of awesome food you never even had before with a drink for less than $25 total!

and i cannot stress enough -

order the mint lemonade! the man will tell you "it's my specialty", and he will not be joking. liquid heaven.

might just be the best restaurant in woodbridge. seriously, i think this was the best dining experience i've ever had in this city. every dish in the buffet was hot, fresh, and delicious. plus the owner and staff were so nice. and the mint lemonade?! best lemonade i've ever had! no lie. you must try this place. i plan to go back as soon as possible.

awesome place to eat-you're like family the moment you walk in and the food is the best kabob place around! hands down.

family favorite!. my family loves this place so much that the kids have asked for it for thanksgiving! the food is amazing and the owners are terrific!

curry can be a hard thing to get right. it is easy to go too hot, it is easy to get a mix of spices that tastes right but makes you regret it later. that isn't a worry here.. the food here is well spiced, and some of the spicier curries will leave your lips tingling, but generally for all but the most sensitive stomachs you'll have no regrets later. great food, friendly staff, and good fruit punch and mint lemonade made on site.
