fantastic. i'm not sure why i'd never been here before, but i'll be back soon. the service staff are wonderful. you can just tell that everything is authentic and fresh- the best tabbouli in the city- hands down! i used to buy rice filled grape leaves from mercato down the street (sold for $2 each from a can), when the ones at aida's are made fresh daily and are only $6 for 6!!

three tries to get it right. beef kabob ordered, chicken kabob served, sent back and the same item reserved, sent back again and finally was replaced with overcooked and flavourless beef as ordered. small portions, not good value, not coming back here.

always great food. i have been going to aida's since it first opened and have never been disappointed. and that says a lot in this city. my husband & i usually share the original mezza for two & add lamb chops. the grape leaves are the best in the city & the chops are delicious. the mezza is served with a perfect selection of lebanese dips, hummus, baba ghanoush, lahneh (yogurt) and an assortment of other delights. grape leaves, falafel, kibby, fatayer, and sfeeha. it comes with homemade pita. if you order the mezza you don't need an appetizer (all delicious) but a glass of wine is a must. try the white bean salad for a tasty treat. aida's kabobs and tabbouli are wonderful. the vegetarian menu items can't be beat. i always enjoy going to this restaurant.

i had a craving for a falafel sandwich and stopped at my favourite mediterranean place - aida's bistro. located on 4 street sw in the mission district, this unassuming place is one not to be missed. unlike many other restaurants that use a first name to try and give the image of home cookery, aida actually owns and is behind the recipes and most of the cooking at her restaurant. aida's is sandwiched between two other eateries (the garlic clove & bistro 2210). once you walk in, you immediately smell the amazing food and are sure to be greeted by friendly staff and possibly even rafi, aida's son. the interior is very modern, with dark grayish blue colors on the walls and a very cool tin ceiling. the floors are lined with a dozen or so tables which are relatively close, so it gives a kind of intimate feeling. the menu is quite extensive, so even though i have frequented aida's for many years, i still find myself perusing the menu each time and discovering new delights. my personal favouri

best share platters around.. i love coming here with one or two friends to get a taste of everything. whatever you're in the mood for there are awesome combo platters to share with dips & appys. if ever you're unsure about something on the menu, the staff does a great job of explaining everything. friendly & knowledgable servers combined with great food makes for an awesome experience every time.

great dips and sauces. due to its location, aida's mediterranean bistro is a great place to relax and enjoy some great savoury sauces and flavourful dips. in the midst of 4th street on a summer evening, hanging out by their open window to see the sidewalk traffic of mission is pretty relaxing.

the enjoyable atmosphere is enhanced with their delicious dips: hummus, baba ghannouj, labneh, and mouhammara. the mouhammara was a first for me and it was one of my favourites. while the hummus and baba ghannouj and the yogurt-like labneh were enjoyable and pretty high quality, the mouhammara stood out. not as spicy as i thought it would be, but a mild kick and great flavours.

the entrees were also good. i'll say the sauces were the stand outs and pretty flavourful. the yogurt lamb chops had a great mix of sauces slathering the entire plate. enjoyable yogurt mixed sauce and great spices in the beans. and a decently proportioned plate. lot of great aspects to this dish.

for the vegetarian delight platter, the falafel really stood out for me. nice and crisp while soft, they offered great textures with the chickpea flavour.

aida's is a good destination if you like mediterranean food. great location, comparable prices to other mediteranean restaurants, and some satisfying flavours. i'd return for an evening out with friends.

what happened to aida's???. does anyone know what is happening with aida's? i had booked reservations for my boyfriends birthday in july and when we arrived there was a sign on the door saying they were closed for a few days. seems strange that they would have taken the reservation if they knew they would be closed.

we tried again last night and it was locked up solid with no explanation????

for my main course i ordered the vegetarian couscous, which was phenomenal. i wanted to order the baklava for dessert, but was sorely disappointed to learn that it is made with excessive amounts of butter and, beng vegan, i obviously did not order it. the service was great on this visit; i find it’s often up in the air at aida’s, where sometimes service will be wonderful and oftentimes take forever to even have drink orders taken. my second visit of the week was with friends. one of whom is a vegetarian and the oth

terrible. the other day my husband and i decided to try this place because we have heard that it was good. the service was horrible. the waitress seated us and then just left and never came back. we had to call her back to so that she can take our order and she didn't even offer us anything to drink. we order the mezza and once it arrived it was so minature. we also offered a variety of skewers, which were the size of my middle finger and she mentioned there would be some roasted potoates but she didn't mention that there will only be 4 potatoes wedges. the plates she gave us to eat were small, like bread plates. we were almost an hour into our meal and she still hadn't offered us anything to drink or check to see how we are doing. the only thing that was not minature at this place was the bill. it was way too expensive for the quantity they provided us. i will never go back there again. very dissappointed.
