the atmosphere was intimate without seeming romantic, which is something rare. the food was fantastic, i've never eaten so much before! i love that they serve local and fresh food. the flavors all really meld together well. all in all, i cannot wait to go back!

can be good, but inconsistent. recently had ribeye here that was so grisly, it was almost inedible.

i was hesitant to eat here based on some previous reviews. i am so glad i gave it a chance. both the service and the meal were excellent. i had the salmon and it was excellent!

service not good. i really wanted to like it - i have so many friends who do. but the service is not good. years ago we went for brunch here with young kids and it was so incredibly unkid friendly and unsympathetic to the challenges of long waits with young children. so we didn't do back for a long time. we went last night for my husband's birthday. i figured not kidfriendly is good when you are on a date. first thing was being seated by a large table. we asked the man serving us water if we could move to a quieter areas. he told us we would have to ask the hostess and left. so we got up and asked the hostess who did let us move. waiter would reach over us and hit out glass with his arm. rear end in our face as he waited on the table next to us. bread came to us after the table next to us who came after us. never got the right food to the right person. food was really good but not good enough to overcome the lack of focus on customer service.

great but shrinking portions. food here is very good and so is the service and atmosphere. also local which you have to support. the fresh bread and butter are delicious. my only complaint is the last time i was here they changed the macaroni and cheese which "was" amazing to this pre baked cafeteria like cake. the portions also used to be much bigger and have shrunk. it's not a cheap restaurant so something to consider.

gf menu: yes. though items are not currently marked on the menu posted on their website , they are clearly noted with gluten-free symbols on dine-in menu. when i contacted acme about their gluten-free options, the general manager, stephen murtaugh, offered these important clarifying notes...

always great service and great food. lots to choose from. it's one of those menus where everything sounds good, and then they have specials as well. i should eat there more but i always tend to overlook it. i have never had a bad meal or experience here.

had a wonderful experience!! the food was great, and our waiter was knowledgable and attentive. what a great find.

the coffee cake comes out and it’s everything that i remember: light, moist and plated with some thick whip cream and drizzled in some raspberry sauce. definitely a must-order when you visit! my eggs benedict with soft-shell crab comes with some potatoes roasted in a tomato-pepper sauce along with a nice salad.

love it. we've been to acme dozens of times. it's a favorite. kevin is a great chef, and the menu is always varied, interesting, and reflects local raw materials. his wine dinners are superb. highly recommended. he also has one of the best weekly newsletters anywhere. sign up and be ready to laugh.

love it. acme has an incredible sunday brunch! you don't want to miss their eggs bennie with fried green tomatoes and ham or their hoppin john's breakfast. plus, their bloody mary menu is pretty super. i'm a fan of the bloody mary with scotch and rosemary. i recommend making a reservation as they are always packed, brunch or dinner.
