the best. i'm so glad i found this hidden gem. it is without a doubt my favorite asian restaurant in buffalo. if you want authentic, cheap vietnamese/thai, this is the best place to get it. try the lemongrass chicken and thespringrolls with peanut sauce.

love it. their pho is nice (especially on those freezing evenings) the vietspringrolls are good too. i live nearby and whenever i really don't feel like cooking dinner, we call pho 99. i usually get lemongrass beef, while my husband gets pho tai. love them both. portions are huge.

cheap, tasty, unusual. if you are accustomed to standard asian take out fair (chinese, sushi, thai) you will be pleasantly surprised by the outside-of-the-box dishes on this menu. it does not seem to cater to americanized audiences in the same way many low cost asian restaurants in the area do, outside of some traditional fair like teriyaki chicken. featuring delicacies like pho soup with tripe and tendon, vietnamese style eggnoodles with seafood (my favorite) and fresh (read - raw)springrolls this definitely peaks taste buds often ignored. price was reasonable, portions were large, service was fast.

i get take out quite often from pho 99 (as i still call it). today was a whole different experience. everyone working was exceptionally friendly, helpful and quick on their feet. and my pho tom was delicious as always. i have never had a bad meal at 99, everything is great from theirspringrolls to their stir fry to their pho!

cheap food. i use to live in the area, but never stop in, thought it was another fast food chinese joint. well once i was introduce to the wonderful soup called pho and banh mi on a trip to cleveland of all places , i have been trying to find a slimilar place closer to home (this place aint it!!). i read that 99 is the only place in buffalo were you can find the famous banh mi sandwiches, as well as inexpensive pho. well one out of two aint bad. i was told they stop serving banh mi 2yr ago, (but it still on the menu).the pho was ok, the broth was very weak, (good broth= good pho),the meat was a little chewey, had to add a lot of hot sauce and herbs to kick it up a notch, but the price was about $2 less they other places..but over all i think i would rather paid a little more for better pho. the rest of the menu items were forgettable thespringroll was cold and bland and feakishly long it came with what i guess was supose to be flavor chili oil but tasted like plain vegetable oil, the fried version of thespringroll had some strange mystery meat that i for the life of me could not i.d., the short ribs were a joke-4 little pieces with some sort of sweet sticky sauce, the meat was tougher then shoe leather. and i had better chicken stir fry w/vegetables from the local chinese joint a few block down the street. if you want cheap eats this place is for you,but beware!! cheap eats=poor quailty food.there are other place about 10-15 min away that serve better food, saigon bangkok and jasmine

nooooodlez!. the pho tai here is as yummy as my favorite pho joint in hawaii!
there is actually a lot of stuff on their menu that i absolutely love: theirspringrolls and egg rolls; bbq pork; lemon grass beef; ginger shrimp; pork sausage fried rice; pork banh mi; and of course, the avocado milkshake! i know 'avocado' and 'milkshake' may sound a little scary together or intimidating, but it is soooo good! if you like avocados, i swear you will like them in milkshake form too.
oh, and i've heard rumors of a frequent diner punch card or something? has anybody else heard of this? or have one?
