i ordered their italian sandwich to go. as i was waiting for my order, it became apparent that 903millsmarket had a very large beer selection. this may have held my interest a bit longer if i was a beer connoisseur, but alas, i am not. my sandwich was ready soon enough. being that it was a nice day out, it was eaten in a nearby park. the italian consisted of ham, salami, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayonnaise, and an olive tapenade. the contents of the of the sandwich were good. they were generous with all of the fillings. the vegetables were nice and fresh. the slightly spicy olive tape

great food! but i have a complaint!. i live down the street frommillsmarket and used to go there all the time, mainly because it is so much easier to get to than olive garden. recently, though i am a big spender and obviously have the funds to make purchases there, the cashier accused me of stealing a yoohoo. a yahoo? "and where did i put it?" i asked. she just looked at me when i lifted my shirt. i haven't been back for about three weeks now. you don't accuse your local customers of stealing, especially if you buy from them almost daily. if i were going to steal something it'd be a sandwich. yoohoo's are good, but not worth jail time. anyway... next time it happens i won't be so kind. i will just hire a lawyer.

sometimes, as a food blogger, i’d like to think that i know just about everywhere there is to eat in orlando and the surrounding areas. sometimes though, places that are in my own backyard, or just around the corner from me go unnoticed. such is the case with 903millsmarket. if my sister had not mentioned it to me, i would have kept on passing this lovely gem up.

i am very thankful that i do in fact know all about 903millsmarket now, because aside of being a really quaint neighborhood eatery, this place has some seriously good eats.

located at the intersection of gore and mills, in dulaney park just south of downtown, 903millsmarket really is in a neighborhood. if you don't look twice you may unwillingly pass this fine establishment. it's a favorite of all of the locals, and those in the know with a good craft beer selection in bottles or draught, wines, mimosas on the weekends and of course lots of wonderful food.

you can get everything from breakfast to dinner here with a wide selection of salads, soups, wraps, sandwiches and flatbreads. some of the popular menu items are the “grateful bread” that is described as “thanksgiving dinner in your hand”, with roasted turkey, bleu cheese stuffing, red onions & cranberry aioli on fresh multigrain wheat. another favorite is “mike’s open-faced meatloaf” with homemade meatloaf on a pressed cuban roll with mayo then covered with cole slaw.

we opted for the hummus platter with homemade roasted garlic hummus served with toasted pita points for a starter, and it was a really good and flavorful hummus. i chose the full monte cristo for my sandwich, and it was an amazing treat. hot ham and turkey with swiss and white american cheese with cranberry mayo is sandwiched on french toast sprinkled with powdered sugar.

my wife chose the falafel wrap with falafel, baby spinach, onion, hummus and tzatztki in a wheat wrap. this was a very tasty wrap. my sister chose the 903 blt with a side of the soup of the day, which was a cheesy potato soup. the 903 blt is classic with a twist, in that it has crispy salami.

903millsmarket is tucked away in a predominantly residential area slightly south of downtown orlando.  the vibe is that of a trendy corner neighborhood market and is quite popular among the locals.  a handful of tables outside always seem to be filled with orlandoans drinking coffee or enjoying a leisurely brunch on the weekends. we visited on a sunday morning, ordered our food in the counter inside than settled into a cozy table in front of the restaurant.  we first ordered the 903 appetizer platter , a sample of their most popular dishes including hummus, olive tapenade, fire-roasted salsa and black bean corn salsa. we enjoyed the platter, my favorite item being the olive tapenade with sun-dried tomatoes .  my only complaint was that the appetizer was brought at the same time as the sandwiches we also ordered.  this sort of defeated the purpose of it being an “appetizer”.

we stopped by 903millsmarket for a quick dinner recently. we've heard rave review about the place and were even more intrigued when we pulled up to the historic building. check out the history of the building here . while the inside of the building has a liquor/convenience store vibe, the vast beer selection and the cream-of-the-crop staff transform it into so much more. (seriously, the ladies of 903millsmarket even posed for us!) the menu is amazing. everything i love was on that menu, veggie burgers, hummus, tapenade, falafel, flat breads. it was truly a feast of epic proportions. i enjoyed a mango beer to wash it all down. the weather was just right to sit and watch the world pass by. it was such a relaxing way to dine! check out the gallery to get a feel for the atmosphere, but it's really one of those thing you just have to experience for yourself!

great place, good food. laid back atmosphere. good food. good drinks. what more do you want?

the food here is great (mostly sandwich type foods) and reasonably priced. the staff is generally very friendly. i feel likemillsmarket promotes a feeling of neighborhood friendliness so its easy to sit around and strike up a conversation with those around you.

when i'm feelling fatty, i like the monte cristo. if i want something a little healthier i go for the chicken salad sandwich.

all in all, this is a cute cafe, in the middle of an older orlando neighborhood. it's got a lot of charm and is a really great place to sit, eat, and relax outside when the weather starts to cool down.

love it all. i love everything about 903millsmarket. generous portions of delicious multi-cultural sandwich/flatbreads/salads. it is set in a quiet residential community and the convenience store set up also makes it fun to start a tab, get a meal, buy some beer/wine & cigarettes and just sit outside & watch the neighbors mow their lawns :)
