if in rio, one must go to zaza for lunch or dinner.
this place has such wonderful food served in a nice cozy environment that it leave you smiling the whole day.
their only problem is that they don't take reservations on phone. so if you are really interested in eating here, arrive before time, wait for your table while you sip drinks and then have your meal.
we went twice and both times our experience was pretty good.
what did we order: covert basket (basically a mix bag of chips, crisps, bread etc) served with wasabi mayo and veggie fingers: this is an excellent starter.
we then went for mediterranean cous cous which was delightfully indian in taste.
our friends ordered for non veg sampler which was shrimp samosas, veg falafel balls and one more thing. again, this was a winner too.
the steaks are also to die for.
while we were waiting, we ordered for sparkling wine pitcher with seasonal fruits. this was a good drink for a hot summer day in rio.
the ambience inside is very mellow, quaint etc with nice jazz music playing in the background.
i would recommend this place to everyone who wants to celebrate a special something in rio.
do check out their 1st floor which is basically a lounge setting.
loved zaza. cant get enough of it.
