most of us floridians are very familiar with the craft beer chain known as world of beer, especially since they started in tampa. since opening that first location in 2007, wob has grown to more than 70 locations in 20 states. what began as a neighborhood tavern to sample great craft beers and swap beer talk has grown into a unique cultural phenomenon celebrating the world of craft beers and camaraderie.

now, in addition to 500 craft beers and 40 rotating taps daily, wob is changing the game once again with a variety of delicious food that pairs perfectly to whatever you’re drinking at the moment. world of beer ucf’s newest addition, the signature “tavern fare” menu features a variety of elevated comfort food that provides the perfect marriage of food and beer for the ultimate experience.

the “tavern fare” lineup of pub inspired foods has something for everyone with wob tavern shares that include an authentic german pretzel, sriracha lime shrimp tacos, black and blue flatbread, guinness brat sliders and belgian waffle s’mores to name a few. the menu also has plenty of tasty and hearty sandwiches like the chimay burger, chicken pesto sandwich and even a classic reuben.

boasting 500+ craft beers and daily rotating taps, world of beer isn’t exactly known for their food menu. well, watch out beer lovers, that’s all about to change as this group of restaurants rolls out “tavern fare” for the ultimate beer and food pairings. with many items and sauces made from scratch, world of beer’s newest menu offerings might just surprise you. recently we were treated to a five course beer meal complete with beer pairings at every course and plenty of beer-infused food. a huge departure from what you’d find at wob previously, their ucf location is serving up some surprisingly tasty offerings.

i usually love this place but this last visit was disappointing. not only did i wait 20 minutes for service in a half empty bar but the bartender was extremely rude. when i did finally get my beers they were half foam. if you don't know how to pour draft beer at a bar that specializes in beer don't work here! will give it another shot but i'm hoping for better service next time.

monday hospitality night. i love going to world of beer, especially on hospitality night cause it's half off drafts. i pretty much always get the st louis framboise. it is a rasberry belguim lambic that is super creamy and made with fruit instead of hops. very easy to drink. if it's too fruity they while mix it with a wheaty beer i can't remember the name of. it's usually pretty loud so don't plan on having in depth conversations in a big group.

great spot on wed night. came here on a wednesday night for their half price specials. was pretty packed, but managed to get a table on the far end of the patio. they drink specials they had were great, and they definitely have a great selection including some things that non-beerlovers would probably enjoy. will definitely be going back often!

great atmosphere!. came here finally after hearing so much about this place. it was clean, fun, and the crowd wasn't your typical drunk meathead crap. everyone was just chillin and having a good time. nicely decorated, not overcrowded. good music. loved it!

huge selection, lively place. the selection of craft beers is one of the best on this side of town! bottled or draft, you're guaranteed to find at least one thing you like! i love sitting on the patio area with my friends, listening to any live music taking place over the bar. the servers are always working hard while still being incredibly friendly and personable. it's also really awesome that the nearby restaurants will deliver food to your table.

epic.. overwhelming selection of beer with an ever-changing tap array.

1/2 off wednesday nights for students is a deal too good to be true. get ready for a lot of people and a damn good time.

great beers. somewhat pricey if you don't know the specials though.

i like. world of beers....is exactly just that. they server beer, and good beers at that. i love how the selection on tap is always changing and the bartenders will actually let you sample them (for free) if you are unsure of the style or flavor profile that the beer might have. this is good given that the prices are a bit more than most other places and nothing is worse then spending $5 on a beer that you think is awful. while the prices are a bit steep sometimes, just get a loyalty card and you can take advantage of the benefits ($1 off drafts).

a beer lover's paradise!. this place just opened up less than a week ago. it occupies a nice corner space in a small shopping center off of university boulevard right down the road from ucf. beer is king here. they do not serve food, but they have 40 beers on tap and 500 bottled beers from all over the world. they have great happy hour specials every weekday and other specials on mon, tues, wed, and thurs nights. they also have a wob u awards program for college students and faculty where you can get half off all drafts from 9pm - close every wednesday night.....not a bad deal! the bartenders we encountered were all friendly, quick, and knowledgeable about the vast selection of beers. i look forward to going back.
