woody's woodfired pizza

woody's wood-fired pizza is located in golden, co.  the reason that i wanted to eat here was because they have an all you can eat salad, soup and pizza buffet. we were seated promptly and our order was taken.  we were told that the salad bars were at the bar and the waitress brought us our pizza plates. the one thing that i did not like about this place was that guests are not given clean plates to get refills of pizza.  you are supposed to use your dirty ones.  i have never seen that at a buffet before.  it just doesn't seem right to me. the salad bar had your basics; salad, black olives, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, pasta salad.  i thought it was really good. there was a wide variety of pizzas on the buffet bar; pepperoni, sausage and black olives, buffalo chicken, cheese, etc.  the pizza itself is good.  they do not skimp on the ingredients.  they have honey on the table to tip your crust in.  that is different.  the service was really slow.  we only saw our waitress a few times.  she refilled our drinks and brought us our bill. she didn't have to bring us clean plans, so that cut down on our service. the manager came around to each table and asked how everything was. all in all, i enjoyed eating here.  they do serve other items other than pizza.  i noticed a few people with burgers and buffalo wings. they both looked good. the price of the buffet is $11.99 but you can also just buy the pizza by the slice.

took our family mid week. the salad bar was pretty standard however loved the beer cheese soup. plenty of pizza of various types on the buffet. our waiter was one of the best i’ve ever had. would definitely go back when we are in the neighborhood.

excellent food, great staff, always enjoy eating at woody's!! definitely worth a visit if you are in golden and looking for a great place to eat!!

the service here is stellar and efficient. most folks got for the salad and pizza buffet which is great and well priced. the rest of the menu is great, with a lot of options. it can get super busy with long waits, but that shows it’s popular and great.

it is very likely, without the huge college student presence of school of mines, this place would not exist.  the pizza is average, but it is rare to find an actual buffet in this day and age.

i might have liked it more had they taken the time to observe what pizza was being eaten and made more of that.  there were always pizzas with weird ingredients that no one wanted.  i wish they had just stuck with the basics like pepperoni and sausage.  you cannot go wrong with those.

needless to say, it is not something i will be back for, but we came and saw.  i give it a strong 'meh'.

what a pleasant surprise!  you think pizza buffet and ugh!  you'd be very, very wrong.  the pizza buffet is kept hot and fresh and they take orders for whatever you want.  the price is a bargain.  the salad bar is also kept full and fresh.  great place for a quick and bountiful meal.  beer menu is pretty good, too.

if you're looking for an easy crowd pleaser, this is the place. the pizza bar has a great selection of specialty pizzas. if you don't see what you're looking for, the cook will have it ready for you in about 6 minutes! highly recommend the bbq chicken bacon pizza. perfect on your tastebuds!

this is not your typical pizza buffet cici style . they kill the pizza game . anytime i've gone it's packed out but for good reason ! they offer a pizza buffet for about 12 or 13 bucks that includes their salad bar too . their salad bar is even above average , they offer pasta salad at the bar which i always look forward to . the chefs are constantly making new pizzas in the wood fire oven then place them up on the heated lamp table for you to come grab a slice . these pizzas go fast but there is nothing these chefs cant handle . they have a new pie out before the other is completely gone . they never leave you standing around waiting for more . the varieties are endless . you can also browse the menu and pick a pie that sounds good to you , go request it and they'll call your name when it's ready . awesome beer selection, awesome food, hard working staff . check them out and tip them well . they work their ass off at this joint !

awesome patio to sit on after a trip to the decent salad bar and all you can eat pizza bar. super touristy, but worth a stop. these are colorado style pies. i wont explain what that means, find out for yourself! good beer list, nice waitstaff.

we love this place! nice buffet with nearly any type of pizza - you can request any pizza with toppings and they will make it fresh for you!

couldn't be better. i stopped in here last night per urbanspoon's recommendation and it didn't disappoint. downtown golden was dead for what i pictured on a beautiful friday night but this pizza joint sure wasn't. a line out the door was a good indication that i made the right choice. i found one available seat at the bar when i walked in. the two girls working the bar were outstanding and never skipped a beat. i opted on an individual pizza instead of the buffet and demolished the whole thing. they also have a very good tap here with rare, local ales that i thoroughly enjoyed. i think i'll go back this weekend for the buffet! the pizza is pretty good and it is super cheap. what's not to love here?

great food, great atmosphere!. i come here at least once per month to play trivia, drink delicious microbrews, and eat amazing pizza. the pizza is by the slice for $2.50 per slice or you can get a dozen wings, buffalo are my fav! this place is both a local favorite and a tourist destination.

we had a party of 11. service by tim was amazing. the food was amazing. everyone at the table loved the buffalo chicken pizza. all you can eat pizza/soup/salad is a great deal.

place to hang out. this place makes a great pizza, and captures the best of golden in its atmosphere - you're a local as soon as you walk in the door. bar and buffet, sweet.

absolutely love this place. it's a must on every trip to denver.
