stopped by here based on a recommendation. had a jumbo chicago dog and soda. food came out fairly quick and tasted good. location was clean. they also take credit cards unlike most of colorado springs which only takes cash.

want to give it a better score, so will return again to try the rest of the menu to see if the rest is good.

now called miller's chicago dogs, it still holds true to traditional chicago street fare. hot italian beef sandwiches, polish sausage, vienna beef red hots and italian sausage. i couldn't decide between the italian beef or italian sausage, so i got both on one sandwich with giardinera. no need for fries unless you're going to give yourself cpr grabowski-style...that's a big sandwich. and delicious. took it to go, and paul gave me the jus on the side...my short drive back to work didn't leave the sandwich cold or too soggy (though "too soggy" may mean different things to different italian beef aficionados). dumped the jus on the sandwich and went to town...definitely satisfied the cravings. the problem now will be staying away. give these folks some business...they are opening their doors for thanksgiving 12-3pm and serving a traditional thanksgiving meal to all comers. good food and old-style commitment to neighbors and "holiday orphans"...too rare these days.

traditional and unfiltered authenticity. i actually like joints like this that have a little edge to them. there is a scene in the movie "gran torino" with clint eastwood where the longtime barber and eastwood's character unceremoniously exchange barbs, innuendo and colorful colloquialisms as they both meet and part ways. it is the expected and comfortable aspect of their authentic relationship. it might even be a guy thing. though the owners and operators of lp's windy city chicago style hot dog are not at all as ribald as i just described, they certainly have the comfortable familiarity one enjoys when frequenting these kind of quirky places. in addition to the friendly hospitality, they happen to have really good hot dogs. the classic chicago version has every single authentic ingredient to include the sports peppers, celery salt, the crispy dill pickle spear and even the electric green relish. combined with fresh sliced tomatoes, onions and classic yellow mustard, all atop a genuine vienna hot dog with a poppy laced roll, and you end up with a thing of beauty. it is delicious, crunchy, savory and right on target. the chili dogs are equally tasty and perfectly matched with the vienna dogs and sausages. the potato salad is commercially made, but adequate. they do have cream soda and other expected beverages. lpwccshd also serves italian beef sandwiches with a proper hot giardiniera salad topping. it looked good, but i need any pathetic excuse to return. so i will try it next time...you know, for science. the prices are fair and affordable, and the service is wonderful, just a little ornery, and culturally aligned with the plethora of chicago paraphernalia on the walls. it is a fun place to grab a real deal dawg. you gotta try it.

well it's not a dodgerdog but hot damn the chicago dog was phenomenal. my wife claims it tastes just like back in chicago either way, get your mustache wielding, aviator wearing, fat ass out here and eat this. da bears.

better at home. the other day my wife was craving a hot dog and after searching the internet we settled on windy city. she got a chili cheese, i got the kraut dog and the kids got the chicago.... should have just gone to king soopers and got the ingredients. the dogs were pencil thin and not overly impressive in terms of flavor. it would have been money better spent getting some brats to cook at the house. no wonder chicago is known for deep dish pizza and not hot dogs.
