wildfire eden prairie

loved it! we canceled reservations at a swanky steakhouse downtown to go back to wildfire a second night while we were in town!

good choice. we were visiting from out of town, & this restaurant was suggested by a shop keeper. when we walked in we kind of expected it to be more that we were looking for that evening. though the menu was overally enticing, we chose a 'light' meal of shared chop salad & a couple of pizzas. the salad was exceptionally tasty - the pizzas definitely hit the spot. we shared a bottle of ther 'wine of the month' & it was a sure hit also. so tho we ate relatively light, we thoroughly enjoyed our choices. the atmosphere was quite "club-by" in a very warm & inviting way. it was just what we needed tonight & we'd definitely return.

good steaks. food: i had the flank steak which tasted very good and had a really tasty sauce. the portion was the perfect amount and was platted well. the chopped salad is also recommended.

service: excellent and prompt which a steak house should be.

atmoshpere: actually felt like a real classy steak house despite being in a mall.

location: this is the big downside. not much they can do about it but who wants to eat a really good steak at a mall in the suburbs? the place should be downtown.

visited for dinner, located right next to amc theaters attached to eden prairie mall. straight up went for main course, tried their salmon and lamb chops. salmon was well cooked, served on cedar plank with brown sugar-soy glaze. the taste was perfect, the slice of fish was pretty big compared to other restaurants serving salmon. i opted for wild rice sides, tasted good. paired with white wine, the salmon couldn’t have tasted better. the lamb chops was decent, paired with red wine and redskin mashed potato sides. i prefer well cooked lamb, it was slightly under cooked but was manageable. will visit again.

this is my go-to restaurant for special occasions. i love their happy hour (hello bacon-wrapped scallops!) and their martini flights. you can't go wrong with their soups, steaks and halibut (when they have it). service can be spotty, so not a full 5 from me. overall, excellent!

dinner disappointment. my husband and i had dinner at wildfire eden prairie tonight and were extremely disappointed. after many wonderful meals this one bombed. a petite new york strip at $28.95 came on the plate alone. nothing other than parsley. the baked potato was an additional $1.95. over priced for a so so tasting steak sorely in need of flavoring and than additional charge for a baked potato?? called and talked to the manager who didn't offer any help but kept saying "if there is any thing i can do for you" which apparently he couldn't. will not be going back anytime soon.

delist. terrific chopped salad and great fish special (parmesan-encrusted alaskan cod) and wonderful filet mignon. lobster tail was good but small.

vibrant, energetic atmosphere.

the service when sitting in the martini lounge was not good at all. the server pretty much said what we were ordering was not a good choice and then proceeded to ignore us the rest of the time.

cousin reunion. four cousins coming together to catch up on each other's lives -- just want somewhere that has good food and a variety of choices. and we found it at wildfire -- the ambiance was great, the food was simply spectacular, and a good time was had by all. the only complaint was the waiter -- although knowledgeable and attentive, he was a bit "full of himself" in terms of his own importance!

great experience. this is exactly what i think higher end restaurants should be. comfortable seating, signature items (like chop salad), fun (beer flight), great entrees, good sides, and attentive service. need i say more?

disappointing. my girlfriend and i walked in around 8 pm on a monday night and headed over to the bar to find it very full, the only open seats were two tables along the back wall with reserved signs on them. we walked back to the hostess and asked about the availability of those tables. it was apparently too much to ask her to do her job because she was very snotty in her reply when she told us the high top tables were open seating. we replied by telling her they were full and asking if the tables with the reserved signs were available. she seemed annoyed and said that those were for reservations only. we asked if there were reservations holding the tables. she said she would have to check, at which point she didn't look at anything!!! she simply grabbed two menus and showed us to a table. i could not believe this was such an inconvenience for her to do her job and help us spend money at her place of employment.

food was very good, but i would agree with other reviews that it was a bit overpriced for what you are getting, especially at the eden prairie mall.

our server was very knowledgable and helpful but she would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time making it impossible to get her attention, the whole experience was much longer than we wanted it to be.

i don't think we will go back, plenty of other places with just as good or better food with friendly service.

best in ep. this has to be one of the best restaurants in eden prarie. every time i visit this restaurant i have a great experience. the staff is a little older than one typically sees in a restaurant, their age reflects in more detailed service. although a little pricy the food has always been spot on.

if you want to entertain any family from out of town and you do not want to gamble on your experience then this is a must visit.

we ate here last night for my sons birthday , we came from rochester and we were very much excited to dine at wildfire. but i must first save it is a bit pricy , we had six in our group . the special was a $35 crusted filet (no one ordered the special maybe we should have) two orders of the crusted cod , one ordered coconut shrimp , one had the turkey burger , my son had the rib eye, and i had the chicken and ribs $25. i personally think a high scale place should include a salad with a meal but that was extra (we all passed on the salad) . the cod was #1 at our table, #2 was the turkey burger, then down hill from there , the coconut shrimp was over done almost had a burnt look, the chicken and ribs meal i had was 50% chicken good ribs cold (they had been heated up from either frozen or refrigerated and were sill cold) the most disappointing was my sons rib eye , it came out and was the size of hamburger patty from a mcdonald's burger ($25 and no kidding the steak was so small he almost died when it came out)
so all in all maybe less then 75% , we won't go back the meal were just too uneven .

my filet mignon was amazing! crab cake appetizer was delicious ....

great.... a little on the expensive side, but otherwise great. i've been going here on and off for 10 years everything is always tasty.

i had only one bad experience where the duck was way over cooked. they did everything and more to make it right.

basically, for the price food and service is great.
