update:
still a great place to go have a beer, but unfortunately i have to say the food has really gone downhill the past couple times i visited. sadly i'm decreasing my original 4.5 rating to a 3.5.

what a great addition to calgary's brewery scene! the tap room has a really cool beer-centric, industrial vibe, and all the staff are very friendly (not to mention super knowledgable about beer!). each main comes with a recommended beer pairing, which is a pretty cool concept. after much deliberation i decided to try the pulled alberta brisket sandwich with a side of beef & barley soup (16.95). i have to say, it was pretty delicious. the bbq sauce had great depth of flavour, and the meat was wonderfully tender. the house made pickles added a welcome crunch and acidity to the rich meat, and it all came on a fresh pretzel bun that supplied the perfect bun-to-filling ratio. the beef and barley soup was also really good, featuring a rich savoury broth. i also sampled the blackened chicken club (15.95) which was very tasty. it came with a side of corn chicken chowder (the soup of the day) which was really, really good - creamy and delicious! i'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!
