whispering canyon cafe

this place is located off park grounds at one of the disney resorts close to magic kingdom. you access it by boat from the park, so build in some extra time for the to and from trips in your plans if you plan on visiting.
it’s a sit down joint on the meal plan with sort of a wilderness/western theme. as with all places at disney you’re paying in part for the experience, which here includes crazy sized refill drinks, multiple bottles of ketchup delivered between tables by diners and kids racing stick horses through the restaurant periodically. we were here 8 years ago and returned on the trip and to be honest i liked it better when the kids were smaller and more into the gimmick.
it was still very good and very disney - excellent service, very good food (we ordered a platter style family meal, which i really liked not just for quality but for the family atmosphere of it, a la liberty tree). ridiculous good desserts also. and yes, beer is served, which it is not in most locations inside magic kingdom.
price wise it’s in line with other restaurants on and around the parks. i recommend it as an option even though it’s less convenient; but especially if you have kids in the 5-10 range.

loved my dining experience at whispering canyon. i had great and attentive service and the cast members were all fun and games. it's a very lively and loud atmosphere and the cast try to get guests to interact with them. the food was also very delicious. i ordered the all you can eat skillet where you basically get corn bread + a apple salad to start and then a huge plate of meats. after that if you want any more food you just let your server know and they'll bring out more for you upon request. the flavours were so delicious! i wouldn't recommend this place if you're after a quiet dining experience. be sure to ask for ketchup if you go!

whispering canyon is located right off the lobby of wilderness lodge and is a fun place to get a little loud! i was thankful i hate ketchup haha but if you're a fan, don't worry, there's plenty to go around! if you are looking for a quiet and relaxed evening, this isn't the place for you. but if you're looking for loud, yelling, kids running around, lots of fun, a great waitstaff with lots of personality who have been around for a long time and have tons of stories, and hearty food, then this is the place for you! i love being able to buy a huge mixed plate for my boyfriend and i to split and enjoy a variety of bbq style foods, we couldn't even finish it we were so full when we left! it's never ending and they will give you refills for free!

whispering canyon cafe is a wild west themed eatery, that features all of the bedlam you'd expect if you stopped for a meal at a frontier town watering hole. arriving as the restaurant opened for the night, the energy of the wait staff came through as they heartily welcomed the assembled crowd with a shouted "come and eat!" when we let our waitress, know that we each had dietary restrictions (gluten/dairy free), she brought out the new top eight allergen free dinner menus for us to look out, but also let us know that she would grab a chef to answer any questions we might have.

tasty and fun. if you are looking for a romantic date night, this is not likely the place to go. if you are looking for good food in a fun atmosphere, you have found your place. western themed seating and meals, along with a server who is probably anything but quiet. you make the decision to watch the silliness or be a part of it. if you are bad they may put you in jail..... or tell the entire restaurant to be quiet so you can talk on the phone. the chef came to the table to discuss food allergies and modify the menu. he was even able to come up with a delicious dessert that was dairy free. our server, i believe his name was david, had a big personality and was very informative and friendly. i would definitely visit again.

the best dining value on disney property, period.. great food, all you care to eat meat, great service, and atmosphere. the price, wow it is as good as you are going to get at the house of mouse.

bbq style, western style, it may be a bit corny but overall good food.

try it out but make reservations as sometimes they are so packed they don't allow standby.

whispering canyon cafe is a disney restaurant that gives families a hearty meal with some real western theming. if you’re wondering which restaurant to book for the evening, i recommend giving this place a try. i’d also make reservations a few days in advance, as some days may be busier than others.

the sandwich came with a massive heaping portion of pulled pork. the pork was very tasty. it was smokey, tender, and it had a hint of sweetness. the over easy egg on top added some richness when the yolk burst all over the sandwich. this sandwich comes with a side of breakfast potatoes that are spiced with a bit of herbs and chunks of peppers. these had good flavour, but some of them could have been a bit more crisp. overall i was very satisfied with this sandwich. it’s a pretty big and heavy meal for the morning, but i’m down for p

overpriced bad food with a gimmick. overpriced limited menu banquet quality food, don't be fool by the act the staff plays, your are paying a lot for bad food. we are disney regulars and have stayed at the wilderness lodge multiple times, we were last there for new years holidays made the mistake of eating at the wihispering canyon, not that the hotel has many other choices, we were a party of six and had a terrible experience, management did not do much to help.

overpriced, obesity paradise. 10 year olds and up are now required to order the $33 skillet. what kid can each that much food? never should have changed the menu. no more entrees, skillet only. unless you have the disney dining plan, this is not a good choice.

a must try when visiting disneyworld. the name will crack one up because this place is anything but whisper level... in fact it's quite boisterous, but that's what you come to expect for the most part when visiting a disney restaurant.

i normally prefer lunch to dinner myself, but here you must come for dinner as that's where their best value lies and dinner tends to be more popular and crowded than lunch anyway.

even if you don't need it you'll want to request some ketchup!!! out loud of course... just yell ketchup and see what happens.

when your drink order is taken make sure you ask for a "little soda!" don't worry just do it!!!

within the wilderness lodge is the fun, loud and entertaining whispering canyon cafe. the servers dress up as cowboy and cowgirls. our server sidetracsue was rambunctious and got the whole restaurant to sing and was very sassy.

fun place. great for kids. good food. go ahead, i dare you to ask for ketchup!

best disney dining experience yet!. this was by far the best time i've had dining at disney! and not because of the food but for the atmosphere- the food was good, too! the waiter brought my boyfriend an enormous cherry coke after he "slurped" down his first normal sized one! the corn bread was amazing and i enjoyed the chips and cheese dip appetizer!

get the skillet!. it was the best bbq i have had for a long time. unique flavor to their sauce and meat falls off the bone. the skillet is bottomless so they keep bringing you more food if you can handle it. we had to have a few more ribs but that was all we could handle. i dare you to ask for ketchup and see what happens? the servers are fun loud and upbeat! a real hootenanny!!!
