service is horrendous. they are severely understaffed. there is 1 girl who basically has to wait on every table (there are 13). she's constantly running around, losing track of orders, not serving drinks or silverware. not really her fault though. then there's a guy who spends all his time at 1 table, usually of people he seems to know, just talking about beer and giving samples. finally, there's an old guy that doesn't even work there that just tries to help, with no access to their order system, randomly asking people what drinks they ordered, trying to keep up. they don't have the excuse of being new being we've been here before at least 6 months ago. the first time we came here it was packed and we ended up waiting 30 mins before being served so just walked out. the second time we were only the 5th table seated and it still took forever, but stuck it out. the food was decent but was served by the cook who was running in and out the kitchen, from making the food to handing it out. also we got 2 dirty glasses with lipstick on them and dirty. horrible experience, and i feel bad for the girl trying to keep up and the old guy who's not even getting paid.

delicious quality german food!. yum!!! would be one word to describe west berlin. the fantastic music choice playing sets the scene as you walk in to this beautiful eatery! the service is welcoming and efficient, the food is top notch and the entire place encluding bathrooms are clean and well kept. we were beyond pleased with our lunch today. i am so excited to go back! this is a must for anyone who wants to experience an exceptional selection of quality german food.

real german service. don't get but hurt if the server doesn't notice you for awhile, their a new restaurant trying to get on there feet and extremely understaffed. its quite friendly service compared to your average restaurant in germany. the food is authentic, if your not used to german food you most likely wont like it the first time. overall, try it out because it is tasty just don't take offense to the service.

rotten!. we were very turned off by the horrible service (actually non-service). waited 5 minutes to be seated but were ignored. we finally seated ourselves. staff cleaned tables and walked by us numerous times without even a glance. after about 20 minutes we left. staff also were dressed like slobs and didn't appear clean. we've since heard the food isn't very good so maybe they did us a favor. this place will not last long unless they change their service and clean up.

finally - real german food in anchorage. after friends raved about this restaurant i had to try it. being raised in a home that served german food, i was a little skeptical. what a delightful surprise!! the potato pancakes were a perfect blend of nutmeg, onions and potatoes- better than my mother's. the jagerschnitzel and rotkohl were delightful and the apple dessert a fantastic completion to a wonderful dining experience. i highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy home cooked quality german food.

dont know where to start!!!. i went there on saturday march 28th around 630pm,
i dont know where to start...
the easiest is, maybe the cook and server had a bad day, otherwise i would not recommend this restaurant at all!
the schnitzel was absolutely dry, the meat tenderized to thin, most likely not even fresh prepped neither from the same day. looked and tasted like it was pre done at least 1 day before and than reheated in some way. def not the way it should be, nor look or taste. the jaeger sauce had nothing to do with a jaeger sauce and no flavor nor seasoning! same with the potato salad, potatoes over cooked, and no flavor to it at what so ever! my wife had the cream schitzel and i have never ever seen a cream schnitzel that had mushrooms to it! out little one had a pretzel that was everything but fresh or good! all the food was made without any love or passion to german food! if you own and run a place like this, either put some love and passion to your job and food or dont call it authentic german food!! it was a shame and waist of my money and time to go there! i sure am not planing to go back and also told friends not to go there. think twice if you want to go there, because you might get the wrong impressing of german food!
with a small menu like theres and a small restaurant everything should be fresh made to order! pretty sad!

date night destination.... our second choice for date night fare turned out to be the ticket. we were skeptical because it seemed... quaint... but please let me tell you, the food is delicious beyond compare. the restaurant is new and in the awkward early establishment phase, but word will spread. this food is delicious.

new favorite restaurant!. i love german food and beer, and they do an amazing job! best beer list in town, and the food hits the spot, always delicious!

west berlin. i had the schnitzel sandwich was really good, not a big fan of the potato salad, but that could just be the german style. i'm no german food expert. unfortunately, one one person was working at the time so service was a bit slow, but he sure did know his beers! i would definitely go back and try some of their other food.

early dinner stop. most excellent dinner service. will come again soon.

worst german foood ever. don't waste your time. grey saukraut, over-deep fried everything, no bread, no wine, spatzle rubbery and deep fried? ugg.

went there for the first time today and had the rahmschnitzel for lunch. it was really good! i'll definitely be back!!

a great place to eat german food in anchorage.. i ordered the "jaegerschnitzel with red cabbage and spaezle. the service was excellent and it didn't long at all to get the food ordered. everyting tasted great! the jaegerschnitzel was very large and tasted really good. i would also recommend the german style pork roast which i had the day before. don't forget to have the apple strudel for dessert. i was surprised at how reasonable the prices were.

i highly recommend this restaurant.

loved the entire experiance. we went to west berlin for lunch, service was great and the waiter was very friendly and informative on the dishes. really enjoyed the food an german music. looking forward to returning!

if i had stars.... ...right now this restaurant would get 3. the food just isn't there yet. and, we hope they expand their menu. as it stands, there isn't much to bring us back for a while. they have a great idea and theme going. now all they need is to bring the food up a couple of notches, meaning flavor profiles, temp control and presentation. our server was great and very knowledgeable. we'll give them a couple of months to iron out the kinks, then we'll be back.
