waldo's bbq

wonderful bbq sauce and too much food!!. its been a week and i am still making dinner for 2 out of the leftovers! for me the bbq sauce is the best ever and the ribs/chicken just melt away. i found the meat a little fatty for my taste but still delicious. 2 entres and sodas is $50.

very pleased. a great down home bbq spot, meat was cooked to perfection. i ordered the sampler plate and it came with brisket, bbq beef and chicken. the brisket was so tender and so juicy i couldnt stuff my face fast enough. the chicken was very and ill pass on it next time, but their bbq sauce made it enjoyable still.

their coleslaw and mac&cheese are deleious. i getting hungry just thinking about it and now i want to return.

the place is more of a family style joint and van get a bit loud, but not so loid enough to ruin ones mood....

still good. late sunday lunch.
"super sampler"combo, ribs, brisket, pit beef. cornbread & 2 all you can eat sides of your choice.
ribs ok, but i prefer famous daves for the smokiness & spices. brisket & beef, very good. fries excellent, hand cut.
lots of food, took half home for todays lunch!
priced reasonably, ok service.

this is the real thing, folks. this place reminds me of other good bbq joints..in texas, florida, louisiana. a little corny & grungy, but definitely tasty.
i had a sampler platter. brisket, pulled pork, hot link, fries & coleslaw. cornbread was brought to the table a couple minutes later. huge jar of good iced tea.
brisket was tasty, but not smoky enough for my taste.
pulled pork was great, just tasted like fresh pulled pork!
hot link was outstanding! perfect & delicious.
snappy, juicy and tasty.
fries were hand cut with a little skin left on, good.
cole slaw was fine.
cornbread...ive had better, but ok.
could only eat half the meal, competent waitress brought me a box.

disappointed... had a bad experience last night. they closed at 9pm. got there at 8. saw they had all you can eat riblets. ordered and then was told to order just the riblet dinner ..told the waitress no i wanted all you can eat. she took the order 2 mins later she came back said they dont have riblets anymore. instead of lying to the customer just tell us the kitchen cant stay open past a certain time and unfortunately they cant take all you can eat orders. what a poor customer service experience. dont know if we will ever go back ..might just have to make that extra drive out to rudy's next time.

worth every minute. what a treat! now, that is bbq. from the outside it did not look like much. but as we sat down, dave came up and explained the menu. he was great! skip the cornbread, but the bbq and sides were the best!! drove from north scottsdale and it was worth every mile.

famous for their endless sides, waldo’s bbq calls themselves the “best barbecue & most affordable catering in arizona”! they also claim to be the biggest barbeque caterer in the whole state of arizona with three locations: show low, lake havasu city and mesa. we stopped by one evening to check out this quirky, eclectically decorated (amusing vintage signs and flying pinks on the ceiling) bbq house’s mesa location on east main street, and the place was packed with hungry customers. we ordered a few items including sweet and crispy yam fries, creamy house-made potato salad, freshly baked warm cornbread, and the pièce de résistance — baby back ribs. at twenty-five cents per piece, this moist and tasty   jalapeno cornbread was a steal. next to the cornbread were the  über tender baby back ribs. seasoned with a dry rub consisting of waldo’s secret spices and smoked so that the meat falls right off the bone, these flavorful baby back ribs were served with the rest

the variety of the sauces were excellent...original sauce is a good reason to come to waldo's. baby back ribs were smoked well--meat falls off the bone!

tasty bbq. all four of us liked waldo's, the food was good, the sides were great, the drinks were in huge jars,( to cut down on refill requests would be my guess) and the menu prices were not that bad. i will definitely be coming back.

had the daily special, tennessee something, huge amounts of meat(memphis style ribs and pulled pork) unending sides, i had the fried okra and spicy fries yum!! sauce was great meat was tender service was fast and friendly!

this is the worst place i've ever eaten at. the food wasn't cooked properly and the buns were doughy.. i'll take advice from a sign on their wall "don't like our service--don't come back." avoid this place.
