victorian cafe

an excellent unintentional back up plan!. not far from here was an unacceptable 80 minute wait! using my handy us mobile app i quickly found a likely nearby candidate for breakfast. within a few moments and lucky parking the 80 minute wait turned into a 20 minute wait on a busy memorial day weekend. the victorian cafe is a beautifully converted house with inside and outside seating. they keep a fire going for those waiting to be seated outside. we got a booth right across from the bar where we could witness all the action.
they were busy and service did take a little while but it was understandable given the holiday. all the staff was hustling and maintained a courteous, professional poise. the girls got water and i ordered their house iced tea which has a cinnamon kick. it was very good. we had time to look at the menus while we had waited so our minds were pretty much made up on food. my girlfriend got the victorian breakfast and here was another case up a up-sell! blueberries for $1 and when she asked to hold the eggs he offered to "sub" orzo adding 2 more dollars turning $8.95 into 11.95! the pancakes (with blueberries) and bacon were good but she did not like the orzo and this upset her. her sister ordered the victorian sandwich. it was huge and more than she could put away. no complaints on this one. i had to think long and hard on the specials menu. there's just so much appetizing food here it was hard to choose. ultimately i ordered the key bescayne benedict off the regular menu with fruit. i can say without a doubt this is one of the best eggs benedicts i have ever had. the shrimp was truly amazing and both girls (both picky about seafood) agreed. the eggs were perfect and the hollandaise was thick and not too salty. all of the fruit (see picture) was fresh and delicious. nothing sub-par or under ripe. i almost forgot the warm house made applesauce! simply amazing all around.
while i still want to try that restaurant with the 80 minute wait i would not hesitate to stop in here again! except for the minor "up sell" infraction they get high marks all around.

i was disappointed after hearing they have very good eggs benedict. we went today (mother's day) and were told the wait would be 45 mins. it was an hour and a half. and hey, they're busy. it's a busy weekend. that's ok. we finally did get to order and i ordered my eggs poached hard. they came over easy anyway, and the food was cold. then they didn't even offer to comp part or all of my meal. the waitress was very nice. i wouldn't go back.

very fresh. i tried the winter harvest eggs bene and was blown away by the fresh produce and quality of the dish, highly recommended! squash, zucchini, pumpkin seeds covered with a great hollandaise sauce. enjoy!

this is a great place to come for breakfast and lunch. right when you walk in you smell the food cooking. i had grilled cheese with a side of their seasoned fries. john had a veggie sandwich with also a side of fries. joshua eiland had the country fried steak with gravy and a side of eggs. this is the perfect place to come and eat very good food.

food is phenomenal. almost as impressive as the staff. they keep your coffee cup filled and are very attentive to their customers. tips less than 20% is an embarrassment. omelettes and benedicts are great. homemade andouille sausage a must.

one of my favorite breakfast hangouts in bend. hence the name, it's located in a victorian style house in nw bend.

california omelette is my go to.

be ready to wait on a sunday as the restaurant isn't overly large. there is a nice outdoor waiting area with an outdoor bar filled with coffee and their famous bloody mary's.

love this place! their breakfasts are awesome and their service is good. if you like bloody mary's, look no further! their bm's are the bomb!

even when they are super busy, the wait isn't long. definitely a "go to" if you're visiting bend:)

so so. the service was nice enough but we out-of-towners found the food to be rather bland and a bit overpriced.

have lived in central oregon for 20 years and driven by the victorian cafe a thousand times. decided to go for brunch with my son yesterday. what rude service. i will never return. bend has several great breakfast/brunch spots. this isn't one of them.

breakfast was awesome. i had green hornet omelet and was great! however, my husband had prawns omelet and it was to die for! i'm usually not a fan of seafood for breakfast, but this was fantastic!

love this place!. whenever i am in bend i have to get breakfast here atleast once. the victorian cafe is the home of my favorite bloody mary in the world. the proud mary is her name this thing of beauty is a full well rounded meal on its own. for starters it is a 24 oz. mary a delicious one with a house pepper infused vodka, and as i said before this thing is a full course meal. it has all the regular amenities that any bloody mary may have besides the tomato juice like celery, green olives, pickled asparagus, and such, but it has the rest of the food pyramid. it also has a long crispy bread stick , and a skewer with some delicious cheese, a peaice of arisian sausage and a bacon wrapped shrimp. if your having the proud mary bring your appetite because the rest of the menu is the best as well.

didn't like. i wanted a great breakfast brunch for my daughter's birthday. we were both disappointed and will not return. victorian cafe was packed-a good recommendation in itself. we decided to wait at the bar and order drinks. we were ignored with three people working right in front of us. when we finally spoke up, we were greeted with an annoyed deadpan look and mumbles of something like, ok, whatta ya want. i whispered, "is it too early to leave?" we should have because the food was an expensive let down too.

i have lived in bend for 21 years and never visited this place. my wife and i went for sunday breakfast. food was okay at best. service was terrible and we felt like unwanted patrons. i will not return because of service and $ for quality of food.

great food and even better service! we were served drinks while waiting for our table. the 10-15 dollars a plate was well worth it.
