my search for truffle pasta brought me here and it didn’t disappoint me. ordered the organic egg tagliatelle 👌🏻, black ink tagliolini, carbonara (the simplest but unfortunately doesn’t taste like carbonara 😬)
ambiance and cleanliness of the place can be improved. next time we’ll try bgc branch

this restaurant is a true evidence that when ingredients are freshly made, food is delicious. a hole in the wall restaurant that made its name because of good food period :) a must try is their lamb parpadelle.

my family and i ate here last friday for our advanced mother's day celebration since we would not all be able to go out together on sunday itself. my mother had heard of good things about this place and of course, we agreed to eat wherever she wanted.

it is located on the 2nd floor of the building at the petron station right beside the edsa entrance of dasmarinas village. it was a hot day out, so we were actually slightly disappointed upon entering the restaurant to find it was not very refreshing inside either. the place was quaint, fitting probably up to 35 people. my family and i sat by the door and glass window because the only table that could fit us had a reserved sign on it (turned out no one was actually sitting there though).

while flipping throught the menu, we were served house bread with a lovely oil and vegetable dip. we ordered three kinds of pasta and when asking if they had pizza, the waiter said they did have but it was not on the menu. after describing it to us, we opted to get two orders of it.

while waiting, we asked the waiter if it would be okay to buy some lechon from next door and bring it in. they actually allowed us, which was very nice. they were actually very accomodating the entire time.

the drinks arrived first and my mother had ordered their house iced-tea and it was a very refreshing blend. we then got our soup or zuppa. we had gotten two orders split into five. i am glad we did this because the serving sizes were just right. i could see and taste the truffle oil in the soup, which needed a good dash of pepper and salt. it was a good first dish.

after about 15-20minutes, the pizza arrived next. it was rectangular shaped and thick, chewy bread-type crust sliced into about four pieces. it had tomato sauce, cheese, shrimp, mushrooms, capers and olives. very basic and nothing fantastic. if not for their olive oil, which had a nice spicy kick, i wouldn't have been able to finish one piece due to lack of flavor.
porcini mushrooms agnolotti - the first pasta to arrive. it was a kind of ravioli. this order was delicious and everyone loved it. the pasta was al dente and the stuffing was nice and hot. the winner was definitely the sauce which obviously had truffle oil in it. it reminded me of a similar dish available in cibo, which i think actually has more value for money when it comes to price and serving size.
black ink tagliolini - a squid ink pasta covered in a tomato cream sauce and seafood. the pasta itself was also made well with nice texture to it.  it was pretty tasty and actually reminded me a bit of the squid ink seafood pasta of wildflour. flavor-wise though, it fell a little bit short for me.
rolled spinach cannelloni - the last pastsa to arrive. at this point, we were all actually pretty stuffed from the other dishes. i would rate this dish average at best, not as good as the kind you can find in salcedo market but good enough.

again, where we were seated was quite warm because the restaurant seemed to lack in ventilation. so we were actually not able to completely appreciate the entire meal in between fanning ourselves with the menu. we suggested that the staff tell the owners about this because it would definitely make it more comfortable for their customers.

over-all, i would say that it is a pretty average establishment at best. i was not amazed by any of their dishes and do not think i would plan to go back any time soon - or ever? it is a very forgetful place, to be honest. it seems like it is a far cry now from when it first opened. i may not end up recommending it in the future. i give it a 3.5 rating.

it's almost a hole in a wall with its unexpected location. when this branch first started booming, there were more cars for them than petron itself.

this restaurant is the epitome of italian goodness. their pastas are well crafted for you and me. although the prices are on the upside, quality ingredients are aplenty per serving.

the best one and i've tried it three times is their black ink marinara php 440. this is flawless. the al dente pasta consummates with nice tomato based sauce and lots of seafood. this could be one of few dishes in my last meal wish.

the menu has its own line of raviolis- big and small sizes. i tried their chicken pansotti php 390. the creaminess is off the charts. the volume of goodness inside that pasta overwhelms. must have for a light pasta craving.

pappardelle was my least favorite although i appreciated the tender, over soft meat mixed with the pasta.

been here a few times only but i've always loved their pasta! i'm delighted that it's now on zomato gold. i prefer the makati branch because it's dainty. the last time we're here, we had the place to ourselves.

please close this branch. food was awful and all the tomato based dishes tasted alike. some of the pasta sauce tasted like it came straight out of a can. practically half the menu was unavailable. also, the restaurant itself was so dirty. slow service also considering that there were only two tables dining at the time. if you can't improve the quality of the food here then might as well just close!!!!

i loved the black ink pasta and salad with foie grass. i forgot to use my gold benefits when we ate here. i already ordered food when i found out that it's included in the zomato gold restaurant's with 1+1 benefits. but i did not regret it. that's how good the food was. we ordered 3kinds of wine as well.

they definitely deserve to be one of the best places in town! we ordered 4 of their bestsellers coz of zomato gold (blank ink tagliolini, oe tagliatelle, ricotta eggplant tortellini & 4 cheese ravioli) and all were superb, judging by how the two of us finished it all in 30mins 😂 will surely come back even if it means paying out of pocket!

we had a remarkable visit at va bene pasta deli. well known for its authentic italian cuisine, chef massimo's made from scratch dishes surely hits the spot.

we visited the branch located at dasmarinas village makati where it is quite laid back in style, and the casual vibe feels like home despite seeing a lot of upper class people and foreigners dining at the resto.

during our visit, they had the bruschetta promotion where you can choose from the 2 bruschetta sizes:
normale 25cm (with 1 flavor) 288php
grande 60cm (with 2 flavors) 488php

normally, the grande would only have 2 flavors in it but you can ask if they could possibly make 3 flavors to fit in. the flavors you can choose from are as follows:

*milanese- olive oil, cheese mousse, salami milano, arugula, shaved parmesan, balsamic reduction
*piemontese- olive oil, mushrooms, melted mozzarella cheese, parma ham and tuna sauce
*piccante- olive oil, garlic, cheese mousse, polpette ragu and chili oil
*puzzona- olive oil, gorgozola, mortadella and onion
*carbonara- olive oil, bacon, cheese sauce, sunny side up egg, parmesan cheese
*cacciatora- olive oil, garlic, braised chicken cacciatora and green olives

my favorites would have been the carbonara and piemontese. bruschettas can be a little heavy so the serving size is always good for sharing.

we also had the best seller pasta called organic eggs tagliatelle- it consists of portabello mushrooms white wine cream sauce and truffle oil. now i know why it is a crowd favorite! the pasta is al dente and it was actually a little bit thick but the creamy sauce coats and gives enough flavor to the entire dish. loved the truflle aroma. another must try pasta is the black ink taglioni. it has a mixed seafood toppings, marinara sauce and light tomato cream sauce. colorful and beautifully plated, the sauce is spot on and really filling.

the desserts were also outstanding. we were served 2 dishes. one is the profiteroles a la milena - caramelized walnuts, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and the other one is mango panna cotta. both were just lovely and satisfying.

overall, we had a great time. very commendable dishes and the staff were friendly. kudos!
