upré by 1559 ad

again, this was recommended by friends before our udaipur trip. i would say it's really worth every penny. if you are in udaipur, then you should never miss visiting upre restaurant (roof top of lake pichola hotel) for a wonderful dinner experience. prior booking/ reservation is highly recommended.
i found the food (we ordered a chicken roast, chicken a la king and garlic breads) here to be good - not great. but you visit upre for the ambience. food comes second. it's really fascinating. the open air roof-top restaurant with its luxurious seating, the view of the lake pichola at night, the glowing lights on the other side of the bank, the live ghazal/ instrumental music going on mixed with the flavours of the food (especially the kebabs) will definitely take you to a different world. it's etheral and a lifetime experience.
note: i am surprised to see that the status here in zomato is showing as "permanently closed". but we dined in upre restaurant in the last week of march 2022 - just a fortnight back. and at that time it was operating with full capacity.

i have visited this place during november.

take care that you make advance booking if you wish to have a great location to eat nearby water. anyways its a 1st floor dine of hotel part.

it has great ambience with good vibes and loving crowd to eat with.
we tried 'mutton seekh kabab' and it was fabulous.

they can still improve upon service part and people working there are not upto the mark.

worst staff, worst management, worst hospitality
they don't listen at all, you will sit and wait when will your order will be written then you will wait when your order will be made, then you will wait for water means the staff is not active and not co-operative also they shut down their operation at 10:15 they will not take any order after that

this place is a must if u visit udaipur.....a perfect dinner date ....hospitality is just as spoke of by royalties.....its a heritage place giving you every bit feel of real udaipur....the magnificent view.....staff is so cordial and helpful, they are highly flexible to make your stay and food worth a lifetime experience....soft traditional music....lake view...world best food.....a perfect romantic setup anyone can think of.....rabodi kanda and gulkand rabri are something i ll forever remember. one of the best stays and dinner date of my life .

giving 2 stars just for the ambience. beautiful lake view and also the restaurant is quite beautiful. but food is really bad. chicken starter was reaaaly bad and also biriyani was okayish. i would suggest people to go to shamiana rooftop resturant instead. it has the same view and foood is really good. upre is just overrated because of the lighting inside the resturant.

one of the best rooftop restaurants in udaipur. the ambience and decor is great. staff is one of the best i have ever come across. if you're visiting udaipur, i recommend you dine in at upre.

alright, so i read many reviews and decided to have dinner here..but couldn't, because it's so difficult to find and you can't reach there by car. you'll have to park it at least 400m away and then, ofcourse, walk. disappointed :(

one of the most overrated places we have been to in a long time.
food- below average
view- great
service- they couldn’t care less
drinks- most things on menu are not available
locals view- cater to people who put view above everything else

all in all- absolutely avoidable

worst experience ever. we had been trying to reserve a table on sunday for which we got an answer that it is sold out. we told them to book for monday. we got an answer saying table booking for next day will start on that day only. the next day we called them at 10 a.m. no one picked up the call. we have been trying to call them since then, no one picked the call. luckily our call was picked up at 2 p.m. and then we asked for the table booking we got an answer saying we are booked for the day and that they have their indoor guests. very poor service and experience.

i went upre yesterday and ordered

achari chicken - awesome taste
mutton rogan josh - average taste (less quantity not enough for 2 people)
chicken kadhai - average taste
jeera rice - overpriced
lacha paratha - overpriced
and naan

in total i enjoyed the ambience but not food.

it will cost you around 2500 for 2 people if u order above food.

worst service ever. the view and ambiance is too good. but staff is impolite and stubborn. charges are too high, the food taste is too bad. don’t visit if you really want to eat good food

most overrated place… the food, service everything is just really bad… in fact after having food over here few of us were down with food poisoning… plz avoid !!!

the place is all about the view and not the food.i had the worst chocolate shake ever.the food is bit expensive in terms of portion and taste
