they were very good and i think pretty good value for money. i’m not a fish expert but i’d say the sashimi was a step down from shiro’s but overall much better value for money. actually in general the whole meal was pretty reasonable – i think the most expensive thing we ordered was a bottle of sake.

best sushi roll in seattle. first roll, ultimate dragon roll is supperr good! the imitation crab meat inside mealts in your mouth with the unagi on top.
the calamari is good. sometimes when days are bad, they make a bad calamari haha.
third is the galbi beef. its better than any galbi i ever tried. their other rolls are also super good. this place is a must try restaurant.

yet, the ambiance super sucks. escpecially at night during peak hours. very noisy and dark. cant see my food!

last week we were set on having sushi somewhere new before seeing ani difranco at the moore. we had never been to wasabi bistro , so we thought that would be a fine choice. we parked on first, walked up to second, and were arguing on the corner about how

amazing!. first time in seattle, me and my buddy really wanted to get some sushi seeing as everything is so fresh in seattle. we heard this was the place to go. we sat in what seemed to be the garden/patio/lounge area, the atmosphere gave it that something else. we order a bottle of sake which was incredible. for food we ordered in true fashion, a lot! edamame beans, mushrooms, an oyster shooter with a granita that was off the top!, monk fish liver, hamachi, octopus carpaccio and the spicy tuna roll with white salmon. the service was great, very friendly and the food definitely felt fresh, something many restaurants lack nowadays. i would recommend it to anyone going to seattle!

i have been here twice - sat at a table one time and once in the private room once. the sushi is really good here, like delicious! the ambiance is friendly, courteous servers. good service.

the place is usually full over the weekends, and a tad bit noisy.

easily the best sushi i’ve ever had. my favorite was the daily special “durango roll” with mango and habenero sauce - out of this world. although incredibly tasty, it’s definitely not cheap. you’ll get your money’s worth!

excellent sushi- went out for my birthday. i'd have to say the spicy cassidy was my least favorite of what we got for the night/ it was just a bit bland. everything else was amazing!

umi makes excellent non traditional sushi, highlighting many of the northwest's fresh ingredients. the atmosphere is also beautiful, as long as you don't have to sit by the door where there is constantly people waiting to be seated.

awesome happy hour!. i love umi's happy hour - the seating is limited so don't roll in with a big group. grab 1 friend and head to the bar to soak up the awesome happy hour prices. i love the bad boy roll, the seattle crunch roll and the crunchy cali roll. the happy hour sake is solid and sapporro's for a couple of bucks def. put a smile on my face.

i took my cousin here, who loves sushi. real sushi and not "rolls" and he didn't care for it - the non happy hour prices are expensive and he didn't see the value or understand the umi magic. get the rolls, during happy hour and enjoy the good priced drinks! if you are sushi purist you won't enjoy this place.

awesome crunch rolls. i love the crunchy seattle roll, crunchy cali roll and bad boy rolls - and they are a decent deal at $5 on the happy hour menu!

lots of happy, attractive people packe into umi on a weeknight. the roles were so much better than the average rolls other places serve. each roll was garnished for colorful contrast, well plated, and just the right size for my tiny mouth.
