ukiyo bar

had a fantastic night here a few weeks ago. we went on a tuesday night for a special occasion and it was surprisingly busy for mid week. not so surprising now after having the food. we ordered off the set menu. i had the gyoza, can't get enough of them. i'm a big fan. and for the main i had the salmon with rice, and green veg. it was so tasty and cooked perfectly. the portion was huge. and it was two courses for € 20. great value. then we went downstairs for some karaoke. we had booked one hour but extended it to two as we were having so much fun. the staff were very nice and allowed us to decorate one of the rooms early in the afternoon for the night. overall a great place to go.

this place was great. food is a bit expensive but great food. and the karaoke is great fun for something different to do. friendly and pleasant staff

after just trying musashi - my sushi obbsession was back.
came here after a day of shopping, with its central location it suited perfectly.
the menu is huge - not as big as musashi, and a little bit more expensive.
but the expense is worth it.
not only is is served beautifully, to me it was probably the best sushi ive ever tried i was so impressed.
we got 3 types of sushi to share, coming to 16 euro each with tip (i think!)
bit steeper than musashi - but to me it was worth it.
couldnt recommend it more.

this place does a great bento box deal for only €10! the offering changes daily so theres always something new to try. i got seaweed soup included in the deal and then in my bento box was; 3 tuna rolls, 3 pieces of seabass tempura, duck stir fry, sticky rice and a side salad! the value for money is great and service is really quick. perfect for a 45 minute lunch break!

for €10 the lunch bento was absolutely beautiful and affordable. the salad was a bit bland but the flavours in the sauces and sushi was excellent. the squid was cooked beautifully.

one of my favourite place for sushi and bento box!! lunch bento box is 10€ and dinner bento box is 15€.
i went for dinner tonight and i got the bento box: it comes with miso soup and boiled rice.
today there was prawns tempura, beef with veg and sauce, salad and avocado sushi. everything was delicious!! tempura was superb.
i also love the way they serve water: with cucumber, mint and ice!! so refreshing!
i really love this place, never been disappointed!

there's an abundance of sushi places peppered all over dublin now and, with so many good reports it can be hard to choose one! for years i've intended to check ukiyo out in a night time capacity; drink a little too much sake and linger around the karaoke machines trying to muster the courage to inevitably murder a ballad but, when a friend wanted to meet for lunch time dumpling i decided that ukiyo was the spot for us.

its a bustling little spot at mid-day but service wasn't compromised, the menu has all the classic you'd expect from an asian dining spot and, they had some great lunch deals that would leave both your belly and your bank account satisfied. we went for the bentos which has great variety and flavour, miso and rice accompanied the dish making for a delicious and filling mid-day meal.

perfect choice to catch up with a friend or for a fun lunch time meeting.

my favourite place for sushi in dublin! great value and amazing sushi. great atmosphere too and always busy! staff are so friendly and very happy to offer recommendations and take special requests!

delicious japanese food in the heart of dublin city centre south. if i had one criticism it would be that there could be more of a vegetarian/vegan selection, especially in terms of the sushi, but i had the caterpillar roll without the cream cheese and it was really satisfying. i particularly love that this restaurant doubles as a karaoke bar with private rooms downstairs, a definite recommendation for parties or work nights out. the staff are friendly and attentive and overall the experience here was really good.

this is one of my favourite spots for a bite to eat and also a great little night spot for a drink and a boogie once the restaurant has finished! the sushi is really good and it's a small place so has a nice atmosphere. i've also gone for the slow cooked pork dish which was delicious and i'll most certainly be back to try some of the other dishes!
