our favorite for asian tapas! amazing happy hour with both food and drinks. make reservations. you’ll need them! this place is always full and for good reason. service is impeccable. fish is always fresh. it’s a great place to try new things! don’t miss out in the brussel sprouts, machi cure, walu walu, masu pom,and the ribeye with egg yolk foam! they also have the best dessert (fried milk) and we’re not even desert people.

i use to have to go to california for good sushi. texas does mexican food and bar-b-que better than all of the other states, but their sushi left something to be desired... until i found uchi! what a diamond! it has the best sushi i have ever tasted!

if you're in dallas, this is the sushi spot! coming from california, i am often skeptical of sushi places outside of the coastal cities but this place did not disappoint. i sat at the bar and ordered the uni, the special soft shell crab roll and a hamachi type roll with all of the tasting delicious! i was too full to try their fried milk dessert which i will have to do next time! the sushi bar staff, as well as the wait staff were all top notch!

if you saw the documentary "jiro dreams of sushi" and found yourself completely captivated, then you will be equally obsessed with the new sushi class offerings from @uchidallas. (if you didn't see it, then this will give you an entirely new appreciation for the art of making sushi!). comprised of equal parts demonstration and fine dining, the classes at uchi are the perfect opportunity to get a hands-on, behind-the-scenes experience with their talented chefs led by head sushi chef kyu. learn the process and techniques used to create every delectable bite, and then try your hand at making your own sushi.

a recent family visit to dallas to visit close relatives resulted in being taken to uchi by our hosts. this is a fine dining establishment in a leafy downtown up market area of dallas. i am not a great fan of sushi, in not wishing to estrange the hospitality shown to us we went with an open mind and were quickly converted. wow!

the food is wholesome, healthy very tasty with a great choice of vegetarian options. the dishes kept coming washed down with copious amounts of japanese beer and 3 bottles of sake, this was a fine dining experience to behold. if in dallas please check this place out. we did not foot the bill for this extravaganza, but would guess that its prices are at the top end of fine dining.

great vibe. good food. small yet functional bar. and decent wine list - all make for a good place.
sadly our server was utterly a let down and hence the low rating. someone else had complained to us about the service - so sadly two strikes in this case means we are not rushing back.

every course was an experience. best service (valerie), best atmosphere, and truly the best way we could have celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary!

delicious, inventive modern japanese restaurant with creative takes on sushi. some dishes are a miss, others are huge hit, evening out to a great night out. some dishes are overpriced but if you go aware, makes for a more enjoyable night.

sight- modern, warm and contemporary.
sound- buzzing! make a reservation for at least a week in advance since the crowds come on the weekends.
touch- clean and inviting.
smell-n/a
taste
maguro and goat cheese- big eye tuna with specs of goat cheese and pumpkin. interesting combination and tasty.
kinoko nabe- hot stone pot filled with rice and gyotoro, tasty fatty japanese beef
seared foie gras- the best bite of the night. seared to perfection, buttery and delicious.
brussels sprouts- run of the mill and greasy. pass.
snapper mushi- this time around it was tough and overcooked despite flavorful broth.

service was amazing!! the foie nigiri was so buttery and warm. i also had the hot rock wagyu beef and that was perfectly seasoned and delicious. also, the fried milk dessert was very unique and different!

easily the most beautiful restaurant in dallas, and also easily the number one japanese restaurant in town, right out the gate. if you're debating whether to try uchi, just go. you won't be disappointed. there's likely a wait, but it's a lovely space to hang out and sip champagne, sake or japanese beer while you enjoy some small bites, so go for it.

the best sushi i have ever had.  this place was incredible.  silly that they don't do separate checks but will split it all if you tell them how much to put on each card.  we had multiple items from the tasting menu which were all so wonderful.  i have already made my reservation to return.

uchi definitely lives up to the hype that everyone in dallas had been talking about. a reservation is highly recommended, so we hit up a thursday evening happy hour. i decided to valet with uchi (best decision) and was greeted with a sample of delicious sushi as i was walking in.

it's a very hip spot and the bartenders wasted no time getting me a drink and comfortable. once we got seated, the real fun began. we opted to stick with the happy hour selections - delicious! if you order anything, make it the brussels sprouts - they are phenomenal.

can i say that i am most impressed with the fact that my car literally was pulling up in the valet driveway when i was walking out?!? definitely going back!

the food is obviously exceptional and yes i am a small kid in a big city but i know that nigiri is two pieces per order. when we asked for two orders of seabream, two of baby yellow tail, and two mackerel we expected to get 12 pieces of sushi...either uchi of austin is more generous or dallas uchi tried to take advantage of two unsuspecting guests.
money is important but we made plans for the evening but we're really disappointed in the receptionist and basic wait staff...i don't care what kind of clientele your accustom too because my money is just as green....

for opening in june of 2015 id say they have a long way to go before they can claim to be our idea of uchi..

save your money if your on the town and hit a local bar and save the expenditures for those you trust in your home town..
customer service is key and i'm no stranger to accounting for bad day days and busy nights but if it's dead slow on a tuesday and service is a 2 out of 10 then i'd have to say something smells fishy -🍣2 pieces even iphone gets it... robbed in dallas

i had been wanting to try uchi and then found you can just eat at the bar, first come first serve. incredible food, amazing wait staff. bartenders were knowledgable and friendly. brussels sprouts, avocado and rice dish and yellowtail with orange slices were my favorites. i plan on becoming a regular!
