u tří pštrosů

i have been taking some time out to review all the bars, restaurants and little food houses i dined at whilst i was bag packing around europe and i am so surprised that these restaurants have hardly been reviewed. i guess, i can take some satisfaction in that karolina and peter have reviewed this place.

i was on a shoe string budget wafting down the streets of this beautiful - beautiful historic city and it was nearly half past noon and all i had so far was staročeské trdlo (classic sweet pastry) at krusta not so far away from this place. so, you could say i was sweetly ‘appetised’.

i am not sure what exactly attracted me to this restaurant in the first place, perhaps, the somewhat quiet it offered amidst the bustling crowds of tourists who had come to enjoy praha. so, i sat down and i could notice that its clients were not so much tourists but people who had been here before. they knew exactly what to order and were of course, speaking in fluent czech. 

with a little help from an enamouring stewardess, i settled for grilled chicken supreme. the wait wash’t too long but by the time it arrived i was starving. the first bite made it clear that i was perfectly justified in shelling money here. the chicken quality itself was one of the finest i have had. the meat was firm and marinated to perfection. it was juicy and tender and felt just right. the chicken was enveloped in a balsamic sauce with but with a hint of heat. this was perhaps among the most delectable and flavoursome grilled dishes i have had so far.

and if you had thought this was the ‘happily ever after part’, well, i would have to disappoint you because the dessert tasted equally good. i had vanilla panna cotta with raspberry sauce for dessert (same pinch karolina and peter haha! ). the dessert was ambrosia after the main course and it really couldn't get much better ….

i would certainly recommend you dine here if you are visiting praha, the staff are driven and polite, the location is riddled with history and you may loose your heart over an innocent supper.

krásná lokalita (ve 3 hodiny ráno, kdy je tam méně túristú). otázkou potom je, proč se takový podnik musí prezentovat na slevomatu. výzdoba rádoby historická. personál úslužný, ale neznající základní pravidla obsluhy. jídlo poučený lepší průměr. á když si někdo chce dát předražené alko i nealko, je to jenom jeho věc.

this place is wonderful. the staff is friendly and the service was quite efficient. the food was very tasty. i recommend the esplanade for lunch.

love the location of this place right at the end of charles bridge. there is both an inside and outside seating available and we obviously opted for outside to enjoy the live band performing outside and to enjoy sun setting. great beers and good pizzas. service is quick and prompt. good place to chill after long walks.

dnes jsme využili zakoupený voucher na tříchodové menu. předkrm hovězí carpaccio s bilinkovým salátem a parmazánem byl moc chutný. následoval hlavní chod filírovaný pštrosí steak s pramazánovým risottem, který byl dobrý, ale nijak nás nezaujal a dále kančí kýta se šípkovou omáčkou a perníkovým knedlíkem, toto bylo výtečné a stojí za ochutnání. dezert vanilková panna cotta s malinovou omáčkou byla opravdu sladká tečka na závěr. interiér je laděn do staršího stylu, personál byl milý, vstřícný a bez jakýchkoliv připomínek. ač je restaurace přímo u karlova mostu moc cizinců zde nebylo a ceny jsou vyšší oproti většině restauracím.
